Term Explanation
Uniqueness   Standing  out  from  the  crowd,  while  feeling  recognized   and  respected  for  
what’s  distinct  about  ourselves.
Belongingness Being  and  feeling  accepted  as  part  of  the  crowd,  regardless  of  our  
differences  or  similarities  with  others.
Unconscious   Biases Attitudes  or  associations  that  exist  within  us  beyond  our  awareness.      
Stereotypes Generalizations  about  people  or  things  that  serve  as  “mental  shortcuts”,  
causing  us  to  react  to  people  before  really  getting  to  know  them.
Otherness Feeling  different   because  we  have  traits  or  characteristics  that  make  us  
distinct  from  the  dominant  group.
EACH An  acronym  used  to  promoteinclusion   within  the  workplace  –
Empowerment,  Accountability,  Courage,  and  Humility.
Inclusive   Leader Each  of  us.    When  we  seek  to  create  a  culture  on  inclusion,   we  create  a  
work  environment  that  encourages  us  all  to  be  the  best  we  can  be.
