An inclined plane is a sloped surface that makes it easier to move heavy objects by allowing them to roll or slide uphill with less force than lifting straight up. Inclined planes include wheelchair ramps, slides, and sloped roads. By increasing the length of an inclined plane, the angle of the slope decreases, reducing the amount of force needed to pull an object up since work done equals force times distance moved.
