Telecom companies usually offer several rate plans or bundles to satisfy the customers’ different needs. Finding and recommending the best offer that perfectly matches the customer’s needs is crucial in maintaining customer loyalty and the company’s revenue in the long run. This paper presents an effective method of detecting a group of customers who have the potential to upgrade their telecom package. The used data is an actual dataset extracted from call detail records (CDRs) of a telecom operator. The method utilizes an enhanced k-means clustering model based on customer profiling. The results show that the proposed k-means-based clustering algorithm more effectively identifies potential customers willing to upgrade to a higher tier package compared to the traditional k-means algorithm. Our results showed that our proposed clustering model accuracy was over 90%, while the traditional k-means accuracy was under 70%.

With increasing number of mobile operators, user is entitled with unlimited freedom to switch from one mobile operator to another if he is not satisfied with service or pricing. This trend is not good for operators as they lose their revenue because of customer switch. To solve it, operators are looking for machine learning tools which can predict well in advance which customer may churn, so that they can predict any alternative plans to satisfy and retain them. In this paper, we design a hybrid machine learning classifier to predict if the customer will churn based on the CDR parameters and we also propose a rule engine to suggest best plans.

Banking advertisements are important because they help target specific customers on subscribing to their packages or other deals by giving their current customers more fixed-term deposit offers. This is done through promotional advertisements on the Internet or media pages, and this task is the responsibility of the shopping department. In order to build a relationship with them, offer them the best deals, and be appropriate for the client with the company's assurance to recover these deposits, many banks or telecommunications firms store the data of their customers. The Portuguese bank increases its sales by establishing a relationship with its customers. This study proposes creating a prediction model using machine learning algorithms, to see how the customer reacts to subscribe to those fixed-term deposits or offers made with the aid of their past record. This classification is binary, i.e., the prediction of whether or not a customer will embrace these offers. Four classifiers that include k-nearest neighbor (k-NN) algorithm, decision tree, naive Bayes, and support vector machines (SVM) were used, and the best result was obtained from the classifier decision tree with an accuracy of 91% and the other classifier SVM with an accuracy of 89%.
A Queue Fairness Model of Automated Teller Machine ATM System A Case Study of...ijtsrd
Until recently, consensus of opinions, thoughts and theories on the studies of ATM queuing system, and the analysis of its influence on customers’ behaviour were predicated on the average time spent by a tagged customer on the queue. Very few were poised to consider the unfairness or injustice experienced by customers in the systems in terms of whether the actual services rendered to the customers commensurate with their delay probabilities. To this end we employ the Resource Allocation Queue Fairness RAQF metrics to study and appraise “fairness†perceptions as indicator for service delivery quality and hence customers’ satisfaction in financial institution in Kaduna metropolis. Tentatively, we evaluate both the performance measures and the unfairness characteristics of the system, with respect to Poisson arrival process and exponentially distributed service time in M M 4 single queue system. Summarily, the results of the analyses show that, both the unfairness and the discrimination coefficients of the system in general increases with the probability of having more k m customers in the system and vice versa. The high negative discrimination index as well as its corresponding high unfairness coefficient, shows that though the ATM system may be necessary to improving service delivery quality, but queuing all customers with varying job size service requirement differences in a single queue structure served under FCFS job seniority service policy is unfair and hence may provoke customers’ dissatisfaction. To reverse the situation, the study recommended that i since all customers arriving at the system at any epoch have varying job size, then scheduling of services based on service requirement differences, and dedicating separate ATM machines to customers’ with similar job size will reduce the unfairness index and hence enhance customers’ satisfaction. ii To reduce the ATM overutilization factor during peak periods, as well as the high delay probability associated with the system, the deployment of few ATM machines with optimal processing speed would be more cost effective than more ATM machines with relatively slow processing speed and iii Since the efficient utilization of the ATM machine is a function of good internet connectivity, steady electricity supply and good computer literacy level of customers, therefore, the provision of good internet connectivity, alternative steady electricity supply solar , as well as provision of basic ATM operation guides to customers would reduce customer’s sojourn time at the service point, reduce the system unfairness index and hence guarantee customer’s satisfaction. ABSTRACT:
Mobile data traffic has been steadily rising in the past years. This has
generated a significant interest in the deployment of incentive mechanisms
to reduce peak-time congestion. Typically, the design of these mechanisms
requires information about user demand and sensitivity to prices. Such
information is naturally imperfect. In this paper, we propose a fixed-budget
rebate mechanism that gives each user a reward proportional to his
percentage contribution to the aggregate reduction in peak-time demand.
For comparison, we also study a time-of-day pricing mechanism that gives
each user a fixed reward per unit reduction of his peak-time demand. To
evaluate the two mechanisms, we introduce a game theoretic model that
captures the public good nature of decongestion. For each mechanism, we
demonstrate that the socially optimal level of decongestion is achievable for
a specific choice of the mechanism’s parameter.We then investigate how
imperfect information about user demand affects the mechanisms’
effectiveness. From our results, the fixed-budget rebate pricing is more
robust when the users’ sensitivity to congestion is “sufficiently” convex.
This feature of the fixed-budget rebate mechanism is attractive for many
situations of interest and is driven by its closed-loop property, i.e., the unit
reward decreases as the peak-time demand decreases.

PROPOSED SYSTEM:
Many pricing mechanisms have been proposed to manage quality of
services (QoS) in networks; see, e.g., survey. We propose a usage-based
pricing mechanism and analyze it using a model with delay-sensitive users.
Their results show how to find the price that maximizes the provider’s
revenue by solving a fixed-point equation. A few papers have proposed
mechanisms with prices dependent on congestion levels. We propose a
congestion-based pricing mechanism in the context of loss networks (i.e.,
phone). They provide a dynamic programming formulation of the revenue
maximization problem and of the welfare maximization problem. Then,

approximated by a simpler static time-of-day pricing.
CONCLUSION:
This paper provides a comparative analysis of two incentive mechanisms of
reducing peak-time congestion in Internet broadband access: a fixed
budget rebate mechanism inspired by the economic literature on public
good provision by means of lotteries, and a more standard for the network
literature time-of-day pricing mechanism. The fixed-budget rebate
mechanism can be interpreted as probabilistic pricing: this mechanism,
each user’s reward depends not only on his contribution, but also on the
contribution of the other users. We suggest that this mechanism has two
advantages relative to the time-of-day pricing mechanism with given prices
for specific time-slots. First, the fixed-budget rebate mechanism is easy to
implement via lottery-like scheme(s), for which a total user reward is
announced by the ISP in advance. Second, it has built-in self-tuning, which
appears to be attractive in environments with imperfectly known demand.
