Your paper is a proposal for an Amendment to the United States Constitution. It may be either a revision to current "law of the land" (which is the U.S. Constitution) or an entirely new proposal. It can replace or revise either existing amendment(s) to the Constitution or the main body of the Constitution. Either way, you must be absolutely clear about what your proposal will do and convince the reader to agree with your proposal. Your explanation of your proposal must be precise in what words will be removed from the Constitution, or its Amendments, and what words will be added AND where. It is not easy to amend the Constitution-for good reason. There is more than one means for a proposed amendment to be ratified. Your proposal and critical thinking must take this into account. Your argument(s) must be supported with documented evidence.
The substance of your paper must address each of the following:
1. What words will be removed from the Constitution, or its Amendments, and what words will be added AND where.
2. Rationale for why you propose the Amendment. What problem do you want to remedy or fix and how does your proposal fix it?
3. Why does it require a Constitutional Amendment and not some lesser means such as legislation?

When the Constitution was completed in the summer of 1787, approval by representatives from nine of the thirteen states was needed for it to become the nation’s law. The issue of individual rights was managed—though this, too, created conflict among the Framers—with the addition of the Bill of Rights. Change was written into the supreme law of the land; since then, legal institutionalization of changes has occurred. Since the Constitution’s adoption, change has taken place through the amendment process identified in the Constitution. Change has also occurred under the direction of the branches of government established in the Constitution: the executive, the legislature, and the judiciary.

The Bill of Rights is the first ten amendments to the U.S. Constitution. Review the Bill of Rights in your textbook and select one of the first ten amendments to research more thoroughly. Using the Argosy University online library resources, select at least three peer-reviewed articles about the amendment you have selected. Look specifically for articles that focus on current events or controversies related to the amendment and be prepared to summarize the content of each article.

Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.

- 1. In at least 250 words reflect on your proposed amendment to the U.S. Constitution that you presented to your peers in the discussion board.. This assignment is about creating and communicating a fully developed argument. First, describe your proposed amendment to the U.S. Constitution. (this is a thesis statement) Second, present and describe three (3) arguments in support of your Amendment. Think especially about the ideas, themes, and nature of our nation’s founding and political institutions. For example, do our founders ideas of what liberty means support you proposed amendment? Third, address at least two 2 counter arguments that could be made by those that might oppose your proposed amendment. Describe those counter arguments fully and discuss why those counter arguments do not sufficiently counter your proposed amendment to the Constitution. Finally, write a conclusion paragraph that restates your proposed change to the Constitution and reviews what you believe to be the most compelling argument in support of your proposed amendment.
