The document summarizes the preparation and characterization of iron oxide nanoparticles (SPIONs) coated with a thermoresponsive triblock copolymer. A macro-RAFT agent was synthesized and used to polymerize methacrylic acid and N-isopropylacrylamide via RAFT polymerization, yielding a triblock copolymer. While coating of the SPIONs was achieved, aggregation could not be avoided. The triblock copolymer synthesis and coating of the SPIONs is described, but further optimization is needed to prevent nanoparticle aggregation.
