2. Objective:
Improve the electrical conversion efficiency of solar panel by the
following approach:
• Reduce the solar cell temperature by silica gel coating in the peak
hours.
• Increase the solar cell temperature during morning and evening
period by back side of the panel covered with white coated box.

3. AIM:
• In present days, the conventional energy resources are depleting and
they are polluting the environment in power generation sector.
• Hence there is a need for alternate energy resources, and solar
energy serves this purpose effectively.
• Solar energy is coming to the fore front, available worldwide at free
of cost.

• Solar panel is used for converting photovoltaic energy in to electrical
energy which fulfill our power requirements.
• During peak hours beyond 40°C, each one degree rise in solar cell
temperature may lead to decrease in efficiency by 1%.
• The objective of this study is to improve the power conversion
efficiency of solar cell during peak hours by silica gel coating.
• during morning and evening period by panel’s backside with cool
paint coating.

• The main use of the solar energy is it’s a Renewable source.
• Reduces Electricity Bills.
• Diverse Applications(solar vehicles,solar heaters,etc)
• Low Maintenance Costs.
• Technology Development.

6. Benefits of silica gel:
• Silicon has some special chemical properties, especially in its
crystalline form.
• An atom of silicon has 14 electrons, arranged in three different shells.
• Silicon is a natural semiconductor, easily obtained and easily
modified (doped) to perform as needed in solar panels to
convert solar energy into electricity.

7. Benefits of white paint:
• Ultraviolet and Infrared Resistant.
• Continuous rejection of solar heat resulting in drastic reduction of
roof heat.
• Increase in temperature due to heat radiation from the roof is
stopped, keeping the coated area comfortable even in peak summer
afternoons.

8. Methodology:
• solar panel is used for converting photovoltaic energy in to electrical
energy.
• By applying silica gel on the top of the solar panel it increase the
electrical conversion efficiency much more.

• During morning and evening times what ever the heat energy
present in the panel will dissipates from it.
• So in order to avoid the this we are using white paint coated box
which is made up of glass to cover the solar panel which will prevent
the heat dissipation.
