Imperatives are verbs in their base form used to give commands or instructions without a subject. They can be made more polite by adding "please" and are commonly used for orders, warnings, instructions, directions, signs, invitations, and informal advice. Imperatives are less formal than questions but are useful for manuals, signs, and clearly conveying actions like "turn off the light," "sit down," or "take the first road on your left."
