1) Smoking addiction is largely due to physical and psychological dependence on nicotine. 88% of smokers attributed their inability to stop smoking to addiction, 88% to habit, and 62% to stress. 2) Smoking causes numerous chronic health issues like chronic bronchitis, emphysema, reduced memory and senses of smell/hearing, premature wrinkling, increased risk of stroke, bone loss, impaired healing, and various cancers. 3) While some cigarettes are marketed as "lights" or "ultra lights", they are not necessarily less harmful and smoking in any form has significant negative impacts on health and quality of life.
