Sound As A Tool For Making Your VR Experience More ImmersiveJehoshaphat Abu
The most powerful thing in all Form of media( Film, TV, Games and Music) is sound.
This deck is from my talk on Sound As A Tool For Making Your VR Experience More Immersive. Given on 4th November, 2017 at Lagos VR/AR Meetup
The document discusses how the group used the internet to research various aspects of their music project. They researched the record label Island Records on Wikipedia, visited the label's website to learn about different artists, used A-Z Lyrics to find song lyrics, and YouTube to analyze music video genres. They created PowerPoints and Prezis to present research and posted these to their blog, sometimes facing issues uploading videos. The group also analyzed magazine ads and filmed audience feedback using PhotoBooth.
The document describes the profile page fields and options that users can edit on their profile. It includes sections for personal information like name, location, photo; preferences for contact settings and public profile visibility; and the types of information that can be included in the public profile like work history, education, interests. The profile page aims to populate fields automatically when possible but also allows manual editing, and includes options to customize the visibility of contact details and profile information to contacts or publicly.
The document provides information on photography packages and services offered by PR Newswire, including half-day and full-day photography packages, additional expenses, cancellation policies, and photo distribution options. The half-day package is $895 and includes up to 4 hours of photography and one high-resolution downloadable photo. The full-day package is $1,595 and includes up to 8 hours of photography and one high-resolution photo. Additional fees may apply for items like overtime, shipping, or international shoots. Photo distribution options through various news wires and online platforms are also described.

An interactive menu is seen on websites and DVDs, allowing the user to choose options like play or scene selection. An example is the menu for "Iron Man" which makes it seem like Iron Man is choosing the options.
Idents are used between TV programs to identify the channel and upcoming shows, often using brief clips representing the channel. A BBC ident from 2002 shows boys skateboarding through a construction site.
A sting is a graphic used on TV to advertise something like an event in an engaging way without being a full advert. An example is a 2010 FIFA World Cup sting
The document discusses several types of motion graphics including interactive menus, idents, stings, and title/credit sequences.
It provides examples and technical details of each type. For interactive menus, it analyzes the Iron Man DVD menu. For idents, it examines a BBC ident from 2006. It looks at an ITV World Cup sting from 2010. And it evaluates the credit sequence from Sherlock Holmes.

1. GraphicsThere are many formats for storing pictures in digital format. Images associated with personal computer systems are stored in pixel format. A pixel is an individual dot or element with associated intensity and color information. Pixels are combined to form images. The size of each pixel is a function of the quality of the monitor. For most monitors, the pixel size is about 0.28mm.
Color DepthSome storage formats for pictures involve compression, a technique that reduces the amount of storage space required for the picture, often at the expense of quality. Other formats alter the color depth of the image, as less color will require less storage space. Color depth refers to the number of unique colors used by the image. Using more colors in a picture will require more storage space (bytes). For instance, a single bit can be either on or off. This would correspond to two colors, black and white. Using 8 bits for each pixel would result in a color depth of 256 colors. The more colors you have, the more realistic and natural the image looks. The following table shows the connection between color depth and the number of bits representing that color depth.
The document discusses different types of software licensing and costs. Interactive media graphics use elements like rollover buttons, animations and sound to make websites and programs more visually engaging and intuitive to use. These techniques draw attention to important information and functions. For example, websites often use rollover buttons and animated GIFs to guide users. Image resolution ensures digital images display properly at different sizes while maintaining quality. More pixels in an image result in higher quality. Picture elements, or pixels, make up digital images.
This EULA agreement outlines the terms and conditions for using fonts downloaded from hypefonts.com. It specifies that by downloading the fonts, the user agrees to be bound by the terms of the agreement. It restricts usage to one user per computer and prohibits sharing the fonts with third parties. The agreement also specifies limitations on modifications to the fonts and embedding them in other software. It provides a limited warranty for the fonts but disclaims all other warranties and liability.

HCL Notes and Domino License Cost Reduction in the World of DLAUpanagenda
Webinar Recording: https://www.panagenda.com/webinars/hcl-notes-and-domino-license-cost-reduction-in-the-world-of-dlau/
The introduction of DLAU and the CCB & CCX licensing model caused quite a stir in the HCL community. As a Notes and Domino customer, you may have faced challenges with unexpected user counts and license costs. You probably have questions on how this new licensing approach works and how to benefit from it. Most importantly, you likely have budget constraints and want to save money where possible. Don’t worry, we can help with all of this!
We’ll show you how to fix common misconfigurations that cause higher-than-expected user counts, and how to identify accounts which you can deactivate to save money. There are also frequent patterns that can cause unnecessary cost, like using a person document instead of a mail-in for shared mailboxes. We’ll provide examples and solutions for those as well. And naturally we’ll explain the new licensing model.
Join HCL Ambassador Marc Thomas in this webinar with a special guest appearance from Franz Walder. It will give you the tools and know-how to stay on top of what is going on with Domino licensing. You will be able lower your cost through an optimized configuration and keep it low going forward.
These topics will be covered
- Reducing license cost by finding and fixing misconfigurations and superfluous accounts
- How do CCB and CCX licenses really work?
- Understanding the DLAU tool and how to best utilize it
- Tips for common problem areas, like team mailboxes, functional/test users, etc
- Practical examples and best practices to implement right away

[OReilly Superstream] Occupy the Space: A grassroots guide to engineering (an...Jason Yip
The typical problem in product engineering is not bad strategy, so much as “no strategy”. This leads to confusion, lack of motivation, and incoherent action. The next time you look for a strategy and find an empty space, instead of waiting for it to be filled, I will show you how to fill it in yourself. If you’re wrong, it forces a correction. If you’re right, it helps create focus. I’ll share how I’ve approached this in the past, both what works and lessons for what didn’t work so well.

Essentials of Automations: Exploring Attributes & Automation ParametersSafe Software
Building automations in FME Flow can save time, money, and help businesses scale by eliminating data silos and providing data to stakeholders in real-time. One essential component to orchestrating complex automations is the use of attributes & automation parameters (both formerly known as “keys”). In fact, it’s unlikely you’ll ever build an Automation without using these components, but what exactly are they?
Attributes & automation parameters enable the automation author to pass data values from one automation component to the next. During this webinar, our FME Flow Specialists will cover leveraging the three types of these output attributes & parameters in FME Flow: Event, Custom, and Automation. As a bonus, they’ll also be making use of the Split-Merge Block functionality.
You’ll leave this webinar with a better understanding of how to maximize the potential of automations by making use of attributes & automation parameters, with the ultimate goal of setting your enterprise integration workflows up on autopilot.
In the realm of cybersecurity, offensive security practices act as a critical shield. By simulating real-world attacks in a controlled environment, these techniques expose vulnerabilities before malicious actors can exploit them. This proactive approach allows manufacturers to identify and fix weaknesses, significantly enhancing system security.

3. About Frompo
Every day, with the increase in the number of online resources,
a need to browse through them arises. Frompo makes it easier
to look them up without wasting much time. With a plenty of
search engines and tools already existing in the market to
search, discover and share content, the problem is not –
having an access to the world of information, but is to have
access to the content one wants when one wants it!
Operating for about 4 years now, Frompo has established and
highlighted its name successfully amongst other search
engines. Frompo is a next generation green and clean search
engine. “It is a community of users who come together and
curate search results to improve the search experience for
everyone.” Being a curated search engine, Frompo extensively
manually edits search results according to user specifications.
The word curate means to organize and oversee; custodian of a
collection or a conservator. This holds apt for Frompo
considering its mechanism – it aggregates the most relevant
searches from Google, Yahoo! and Bing and delivers them in a
convenient search package.
4. About Frompo
Sometimes, when one searches for a topic in the search engine, they
get many- a search results which are spam or irrelevant or
malicious. Frompo eliminates this issue by giving them the
complete power of the search engine. Users can actually tailor their
own personal search results. For instance, one could easily search
any audio or video, news or blog or website using specific demands
or criteria, say, - lyrics, genres, singer, movie, album, cast, dance
style or channel, podcasts, time of news, anchors, authors, tweets,
following feeds or anything that you could possibly want!
Objective of Frompo is to identify and classify the best content for a
given topic or category. While most search engines typically get
most of their traffic from the top 10-20% of their indexes, Frompo
performs very specific and to the point, apt searches based on user
needs.
About the Green Search Engine – Frompo declared during its
launch that it believes in giving back to the mother Earth and
sincerely wants to help, save and preserve the environment.
Alongside being user-friendly, it is also eco-friendly! The revenue
generated by performing searches on Frompo or clicking on search
ads will help in helping the environment!

8. Images
The word “Image” is derived from Latin word
“Imago” means representation of a person, animal,
thing, photographs, and painting or otherwise
anything visible. In other words, image is an
artifact which depicts the visual perception of the
original stimulus, in absence of it. It is a two-
dimensional picture that has similar appearance of
subject, thus providing a delineation of it.
Images are of two types two-dimensional or three-
dimensional. Photograph or screen display is an
example of two-dimensional image, whereas
hologram is a three-dimensional image. Images
may be handmade or captured by optical devices,
such as cameras, mirrors, telescopes, microscopes
etc.
9. Images
The word image can also be described in broader sense, by which it can be
classified in many types. These are:
A volatile image: This one remains only for a fraction of time, this may be a reflection on
mirror or a scene displayed on a cathode ray tube.
A mental image: It exists only in mind, something one remembers or imagines;the subject
of an image need not be real; it may be an abstract concept.
A still image: It is a static image, as distinguished from a moving image.
A film still: It is animage taken on the set of a movie or television program during
production and used for promotional purposes.
A digital image: It is a numeric representation (normally binary) of a two-dimensional
image.
Now, if we have to standardize the organization of digital images, we have to use
image file formats. Data in image file format is stored in raster or vector format.
Once an image is rasterized it becomes a grid of pixels and each of them provided
with a number of bits to designate its color and depth. Image file consist of digital
data, which can be rasterized to use on a computer or printer. When an image is
rasterized it becomes a grid of pixels and each of them provided with a number of
bits to designate its color and depth. Vector images, unlike raster images, can be
any dimension independent of file size. File size increases only with the addition
of more vectors. Vector imagesbreak the image into a set of mathematical
descriptions of shapes: curve, arc, rectangle, sphere etc., they are Resolution-
independent: scalable without the problem of “pixelating”.
Lastly, talking about compression, it process of reducing image file size. There are
two types of image file compression techniques:lossless and
lossy.Losslesstechnique reduces file size of image preserving the perfect quality of
uncompressed image.Lossytechnique preserves the representation of original
copy, but it is not a perfect copy, means the original quality will be lost.
