This document discusses leadership of the future based on a literature review. It makes three key points:
1) Leadership will need to evolve to address dramatic changes in technology, economics, politics and culture. Future leaders will need to adapt quickly, develop new skills, prevent or manage conflicts, and change value systems.
2) The relationship between leadership and management will need to be balanced, with both vision and efficient resource allocation. Decision-making authority may be distributed across organizations.
3) Future leadership will require influencing social groups to achieve shared goals, using power to benefit individuals and organizations. High character, ethics, and values-driven leadership will be important. Cultural changes may also be needed within organizations.
