Smartgrid as a solution for rural electrificationAndre Susanto
Inovasi, a social enterprise company in Indonesia designed and installed a smart grid system in a rural school campus. Three separate solar PV systems were installed for each of the grade school complex, middle school complex, and vocational high school complex. All of the Solar PV minigrids are then connected to each other with smart grid controllers for data communication and to share excess energy.
The school now enjoys 24-hour access to electricity and the teachers can conduct the national test activities without having to go into the city.

Blake Lapthorn's green breakfast with guest speaker Keeran Jugdoyal, Faithful...Blake Morgan
On Wednesday 13 November 2013, Blake Lapthorn's climate change team hosted a green breakfast seminar. Guest speaker Keeran Jugdoyal, Mechanical Engineering Manager at Faithful+Gould, talked about the lessons his company has learnt about the end use of sustainable buildings.
Primary engineer is a not for profit organisation that offer schools a way to deliver Mathematics and science to design technology activities. These are mapped to the curriculum and designed to inspire and enthuse and the purpose of the talk is to further bring together the Institution with young people interested in a career in lighting. Working closely with industry, major companies and institutions such as Scottish Engineering, institution of Mechanical Engineers and the University of Strathclyde. The initiative has progressed at a pace with councils looking to extend engagement with schools. We have long held the belief that engineering should be part of the school curriculum. Now is our chance to be part of that strategy.

He discussed the concept of quality improvement, emphasizing its applicability to various aspects of life, including personal, project, and program improvements. He defined quality as doing the right thing at the right time in the right way to achieve the best possible results and discussed the concept of the "gap" between what we know and what we do, and how this gap represents the areas we need to improve. He explained the scientific approach to quality improvement, which involves systematic performance analysis, testing and learning, and implementing change ideas. He also highlighted the importance of client focus and a team approach to quality improvement.
We all have good and bad thoughts from time to time and situation to situation. We are bombarded daily with spiraling thoughts(both negative and positive) creating all-consuming feel , making us difficult to manage with associated suffering. Good thoughts are like our Mob Signal (Positive thought) amidst noise(negative thought) in the atmosphere. Negative thoughts like noise outweigh positive thoughts. These thoughts often create unwanted confusion, trouble, stress and frustration in our mind as well as chaos in our physical world. Negative thoughts are also known as “distorted thinking”.
