I think that my city has a huge gap in terms of sustainable development behavior.
We were born in a very rich territory, with a vast quantity of microclimates (23
out of 29 in the world) that let us enjoy a variety of natural resources as plants,
food, animals and minerals.

Unfortunately, we seem to be unaware of how our actions affect the
sustainability of our ecosystems and natural resources. In addition, our
governors have demonstrated to have a weak hand when enforcing the laws of
protection of the environment when it comes to promoting economic growth.

As a result, my city and my country are
experiencing an important climate
change. Excessive rain, river
overflows, change in seasons’
temperatures (colder and hotter), sea
heating and shortage of some
resources. Air and water pollution has
also been unfortunate consequences.

It is not difficult to realize that we need to make a change. Each of us and the
government have direct responsibility. We need to raise awareness, to educate
children and to start taking direct actions affecting our daily activities and
habits. The sum of individual small acts can make a great impact.
