Brave 8 Year Old Saves Puppy
Mother tells us of her 8 Year old daughter’s bravery by saving their family pet
Victoria Knipe, 34, and her two children Faye, 8 and Jessica, 4 were all taking their pet Chihuahua Princess out
for a walk by the River Irwell in Salford.
As they walked along the canal bank, Jessica’s lace had become untied, and as Victoria bent down to tie it,
Princess became lose and ran off. Afterwards, whilst looking around for the puppy, she was nowhere to be
found.
After scouring the canal bank in which they were walking down, Faye overheard a little cry, by their pet. She
looked over the canal bank to see Princess stuck in the water between rocks. In a tremendous act of bravery,
Faye jumped into the canal bank in the cold weather conditions, to save the 1 year old Chihuahua.
“I am immensely proud of my Faye” says Victoria “She did such an amazing job in helping Princess in the canal,
I didn’t expect her to jump in and save her, but she acted in such a brave and selfless manner”
Faye was overwhelmed “I just didn’t know what to do; I just jumped in to save my Princess. We won’t be
taking her on any walks next to the canal any time soon”

Nek Nominations Warning
Young Salford girl hospitalised after Nek nomination disaster
Georgina Stansfield, 20 has been hospitalised after Nek Nomination disaster at her student house in Salford.
Georgina, studying biology at the University of Salford, was getting ready for a night out with her 8 friends who
she lives with at her house on the Salford City Campus.
After being nominated by her friend, Alexandra Rigg, 20 who attends Liverpool John Moores, over the social
networking site Facebook the previous night, Georgina began to make her drink. Filmed by her Best Friend
Kirsty Sinclair, 20, Georgina mixed vodka, wine, beer, tequila etc. all together before ‘neking’ the drink.
Before Georgina began her task, she collapsed, and went into a deep coma. The ambulance was called to the
house, and she was admitted to Salford Royal Hospital late Saturday Evening.
Kirsty, says this is a warning to all “Nek nominations may be funny at the time, but the consequences are very
severe. It is such a stupid thing to do; I just hope that Georgina will get better, and that Nek nominations stop.”
Georgina is not the first to be hospitalised after the lethal drinking game. There has been up to 5 deaths so far.
Let this be a warning to all to stop the drinking game from spreading across social networking sites.
