It followed the conventions as it pinpointed the
audience. Because it is a Portuguese themed
restaurant, the man on the radio advert is talking
with an accent, which catches the listener’s
attention. The radio advert also follows the
convention that it entertains the audience.
The language used is in an English language, with a Portuguese
accent, which goes with the theme of the Portuguese accent,
and it matches the theme of the Portuguese restaurant. The
radio advert is informal, which directly reflects the formality of
the restaurant. The tone of the radio advert is fast, which
relates to the pace of the restaurant, and also of the stereo
type of Portuguese people. We expect them to be quick on
their feet and talk really fast, and in the radio advert that is
what they do, for anyone who has ever been to nandos, it is
also representative of the service that they give, as they
deliver the food fast.

The radio advert pinpoints its audience, tea is
predominantly drank by adults, or elderly, and so
this radio advert is directly aimed at them due to the
formality, and complexity of the words used by the
male in the advert. It is also entertaining, as it looks
at different cultures and what they do in the
morning.
The language used is quite complex, which reflects upon the
audience that would more likely listen to the advert; it uses
complex vocabulary, and also looks at different cultures,
reaching out to a more intelligent audience. The advert is very
formal, as the man who is speaking has a very RP accent. Also,
the name of the brand which the radio advert is selling is quite
formal as it is called ‘Twining’s’. The tone of the advert is very
British, which is where the Twining’s brand was made. The
advert is very British as it targets British people.
Smart Car http://www.youtube.com/w

The radio advert gets right to the point; it grabs the
listener’s attention straight away by bringing up the
sports car. The strong, clear accent of the man
immediately grabs the listener’s attention.
The radio advert language is straight to the point. It quickly
identifies the features of a smart car so that the listener
listens to it, and doesn’t change the channel. The advert is
quite formal; it has to be formal, so that it is taken seriously,
as many may not take the brand smart cars very serious. So
the way the male radio advert speaks, makes it believable. The
tone of the advert is fast, but informative, so that people will
want to test drive the smart car and fall in love with it, and in
the end, buy it.
