A leadership development program should include theoretical frameworks, programming and training opportunities, experiential learning, purpose and intended learning outcomes. It should also involve student organizations, assessment, project-based and collaborative learning, placement training, skill development programs for emerging leaders, retreats and mentoring. The program should also measure outcomes through direct, indirect, qualitative and quantitative methods and include international experiences, service learning, and focus on social responsibility, diversity, ethics and self-understanding.
