Chatbot shares Indus Valley necklace story
1. The user accesses the chatbot
through the Facebook Messenger.
The bot ensures to check the
user’s interest level in the
conversational exchange at
regular intervals.
The user chooses to return the
query with a learn more option
The bot initiates a conversation
stream in a vertical scroll
format and allows the user to
enter their question in the user
input box.
The user is able to ask further
questions to build a better context.
This opens up the conversation
further and the bot provides
information over the repatriation
of the necklace and historians
take on the subject.
The user poses their first question.
In this case, the user is interested
in learning about the story of a
particular jade necklace from the
Indus Valley civilisation.
Along with text and images the
bot can also share audio/video
links. In this case, the user is
provided an audio link to a BBC
Radio 4 podcast discussing the
the necklace.
The user also has the choice of a
horizontal carrousel with links to
other stories that also offers a direct
connect to the source article.
Based on further interest,
the user then moves on
to read the story on the
original source website.
The bot shares written and visual
information via small snippets of
conversational text to read about
and view the original necklace intact
with all its parts before its division
into two during the 1947 partition.
A quick reply input allows the
user to choose between learning
more and exploring later.
