Why must ICT in the classroom ?
1. It is because constantly changing depending the time
era we live and teach in.
2. We strive to prepare our students to embrace the new
world that lies ahead them.
3. Teacher centered approach now has today become
student centered one.
4. Developing the intellectual and attitudes capabilities of
further assimilation of knowledge.
What do teachers teach in the class?
•1. Speaking
•2. Listening
•3. Writing
•4. Reading
How does ICT implemented in the class?
•1. SPEAKING
SPEAKING SKYPE
• 1. Students communicate in
English with other students via
skype.
• 2. By video call via Skype,
students can see the mouth
movement when speaking
English.
• 3. More chances to internalize
language
• 4. More real communication and
interesting.
Activities through Skype for Speaking
• To raise students interaction,
teachers use kind of this media.
• Teachers asks students to make a
skype account, and they must
communicate through phone call
or video call by skype, of course
in English to see the students
progress in English and it will be
so much fun for students in
learning English using
technology.
2. LISTENING
LISTENING THROUGH PODCAST
• 1. Students can listen to the audio in
English and see the text (subtitle)
• 2. The speaker is usually native from
English speaking country
• 3. It can be paused and replay if
students do not understand or need
repetition
• 4. Podcast can be played anytime,
anywhere, so students will enjoy it.
LISTENING ACTIVITY in the Classroom
• In this activity, teacher asks
student to listen to a podcast
on their mobile or teachers'
and students must pay
attention on the text. Or
teacher can use the media of
DVD to make it interesting.
Students need to pay
attention about what
speakers are saying. It can
also use this DVD to do
activity like completing the
blank lyric of the songs.
3. READING
READING THROUGH E-BOOK
• 1. To narrow the gap between reading and
comprehension using online reading
strategies.
• 2. Instant access for students to get the
book online / larger variety of text of those
found in University library.
• 3. Reading online is a way to turn that
stress away and change it into enjoyment.
• 4. Introducing students to a wide variety of
reading materials.
READING ACTIVITY using technology
• Teacher can use the
tablet or laptop which
provides E-Books.
Student can pick the
title of the book they
like to read and asks
them to read it loudly
in front of the
classroom.
4. WRITING
WRITING CLASS VIA EMAIL
• 1. Help students practice their writing
without using papers, they can write it
through Email.
• 2. Promoting writing instruction
through an interesting way.
• 3. Students can use the grammar
checker, so they will learn through
computer too.
• 4. Teachers can reply the email students
to give the review and feedback.
WRITING ACTIVITY
• Teacher asks the student to write
their ideas in their blog or email .
All the ideas they can put there,
such as telling their experiences,
holiday, or telling their family.
After that, teacher will give
comments under the comment
column on their blog.
• Students will be helped as
writing in computer will be
automatically checked by
grammar checker about the
punctuation, capitalization, etc.
LITERATURE REVIEW
• Teaching with technology nowadays becomes
common as the time ear has changed especially in
educational field. We knew about teachers centered
learning which means here teachers are the only
true sources and students must pay attention to the
teacher. But nowadays, it has changed become
student centered learning which student as a center
learning. Because of this reason, improving the
better teaching way is something we need and
technology is the media we can use to.
Next..
• Learning process nowadays need the tools which
can be used to make the learning process becomes
easier and more efficient. We might know these
lesson in English; Listening, Speaking, Reading and
Writing. To get more sources and easy materials, we
can use kind of ITC learning process. For instance in
writing class, we do not need paper because we can
use the computer and students only need to write it
down in Ms Word or Blog, even on their social
media, such as Facebook, Twitter or Instagram.
Next..
• Another example in speaking class. Students can
use their mobile phone or computer to speak in
English with their friends and teacher by skype or
phone call. It will make fun and related with the
real communication. So, the using ICT in teaching,
especially English is something we need at the
moment because we live in the Globalization era, so
students must be familiar with computers and
technology to face the world.
METHODOLOGY
• The way the writer approach the students is pretty
interesting. There are actually so many ways that we can use
to make them interested in learning English. We can use
things around us. For instance, the writer on the journal
mentioned about the use of voice recording in speaking. In
Japan, it also proved that by making a weekly monologue
video as 30 second has been increased the amount they
spoke in a monologue.
• By using video recorder feature, it can increase the critical
thinking of the students, and it can increase the speaking
skills of the children by asking them to talk about certain
topic.
Next..
• Based on Sheorey and Mokhtari(2001) state that
listening provides students with large amount of
language input. And the learning process through
listening can use the podcast that students can play
and replay, anytime and anywhere they want. So it
will get the efficient time for them to use that. By
using these technology, will help them grow.
Students use computer and email to put their ideas
and write it down without writing it down in a
piece of paper, which its proven that it helps the
writing development of the students.
NEXT..
• So, the using of ICT nowadays help both students
and teachers. Teachers will be easier to prepare the
material and also it will give the students enjoyment
to use the technology in learning the language,
especially English.
• Because it’s globalization era so English not only
spoken in an English speaking country but it has
been spread out world wide.

  • 13. READING ACTIVITY using technology • Teacher can use the tablet or laptop which provides E-Books. Student can pick the title of the book they like to read and asks them to read it loudly in front of the classroom.
  • 15. WRITING CLASS VIA EMAIL • 1. Help students practice their writing without using papers, they can write it through Email. • 2. Promoting writing instruction through an interesting way. • 3. Students can use the grammar checker, so they will learn through computer too. • 4. Teachers can reply the email students to give the review and feedback.
  • 16. WRITING ACTIVITY • Teacher asks the student to write their ideas in their blog or email . All the ideas they can put there, such as telling their experiences, holiday, or telling their family. After that, teacher will give comments under the comment column on their blog. • Students will be helped as writing in computer will be automatically checked by grammar checker about the punctuation, capitalization, etc.
  • 17. LITERATURE REVIEW • Teaching with technology nowadays becomes common as the time ear has changed especially in educational field. We knew about teachers centered learning which means here teachers are the only true sources and students must pay attention to the teacher. But nowadays, it has changed become student centered learning which student as a center learning. Because of this reason, improving the better teaching way is something we need and technology is the media we can use to.
  • 18. Next.. • Learning process nowadays need the tools which can be used to make the learning process becomes easier and more efficient. We might know these lesson in English; Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing. To get more sources and easy materials, we can use kind of ITC learning process. For instance in writing class, we do not need paper because we can use the computer and students only need to write it down in Ms Word or Blog, even on their social media, such as Facebook, Twitter or Instagram.
  • 19. Next.. • Another example in speaking class. Students can use their mobile phone or computer to speak in English with their friends and teacher by skype or phone call. It will make fun and related with the real communication. So, the using ICT in teaching, especially English is something we need at the moment because we live in the Globalization era, so students must be familiar with computers and technology to face the world.
  • 20. METHODOLOGY • The way the writer approach the students is pretty interesting. There are actually so many ways that we can use to make them interested in learning English. We can use things around us. For instance, the writer on the journal mentioned about the use of voice recording in speaking. In Japan, it also proved that by making a weekly monologue video as 30 second has been increased the amount they spoke in a monologue. • By using video recorder feature, it can increase the critical thinking of the students, and it can increase the speaking skills of the children by asking them to talk about certain topic.
  • 21. Next.. • Based on Sheorey and Mokhtari(2001) state that listening provides students with large amount of language input. And the learning process through listening can use the podcast that students can play and replay, anytime and anywhere they want. So it will get the efficient time for them to use that. By using these technology, will help them grow. Students use computer and email to put their ideas and write it down without writing it down in a piece of paper, which its proven that it helps the writing development of the students.

Teachers will be easier to prepare the material and also it will give the students enjoyment to use the technology in learning the language, especially English. • Because it’s globalization era so English not only spoken in an English speaking country but it has been spread out world wide.
