ICT and gamification: opportunities and challenges for career guidance
This document provides information about career guidance services provided by Slovak PES (Public Employment Service). It discusses that Slovak PES has over 230 internal counselors and 60 specialized youth counselors that provide career guidance to 100,000 clients annually, including a special program for 20,000 young people. It also notes that guidance focuses on developing key learning outcomes for clients' identities, strengths, horizons and networks. Examples of measurable employability factors developed through guidance are provided, such as describing motivations/values and setting employment steps. Finally, it introduces a serious game called Job Labyrinth that aims to attract youth to career guidance through gameplay and personal discovery experiences.

- 5. EMPLOYABILITY FACTORS AS LEARNING OUTCOMES • Knowledge, skills, competences, believes, attitudes, career competences… • Clearly linked to success on the labour market • Observable, measurable, trackable (test, re- test)

EXAMPLES • Is able to describe own motivations and values related to work or personal life • Is able to tell his life story and describe acquired knowledge and skills • Can tell why he is seeking employment in this specific area • Has set a specific sequence of necessary steps for approaching the labor market for at least the next three months • Can find information on job vacancies at least from two sources • Is able to outreach to a potential employer with a necessary level of communication skills
