II. Why become a Public Representative?
1 Representative Reward
• The size of the Representative Reward is decided through the I_rep variable (combination of the operation costs and profits), and the P (ICX Price)
variable, which reflects the external economy.
• The chart below is an example based on the ICON Network basic figures. Estimated costs and profits are as follows.
I_rep and P derivation

• The ICON Network has high growth potential based on various on-chain governance and incentive systems
• Representative Election : P-Reps, the representatives of the entire ICON network and C-Reps, the representatives of each community network are selected through
on-chain election
• Ecosystem Expansion Project : Community members propose and implement projects and activities that contribute to ecosystem expansion
• DApp Booster Program : DApps on the ICON Network will receive a portion of the block rewards based on their ranking of DApp service
• P-Reps will play a major role within the network:
• Participate in on-chain governance decisions by submitting governance variables and network proposals
• Perform off-chain governance activities including network upgrades, developer and contributor cultivation
• Given the fact that network is yet in the early stage, the “Genesis P-Reps” will be entitled to a greater portion of rewards

ICONSENSUS for P-Rep Candidates 15 .
1.WhatisthecostofrunningaP-Repnode?
- Our current estimates show a maximum of $2,500per month for the AWS instance. However, we are actively trying to lower this number.
2.HowmuchofatimecommitmentisittorunaP-Repnode?
- This is entirely up to you! We would expect the most active candidates (responsive to community questions, hosting ICON meetups, maintaining a website, etc.) to receive more votes from the
community, however, if you are able to make it into the top 22 without much time commitment then that is all that matters.
3.WhatarethetermsofbecomingaP-Rep?
- There is no minimum requirement to register as a P-Rep, however, in order to become a Main P-Rep, that can produce and verify blocks, one must be delegated with at least 0.2%of the total ICX.
4.HowcanIdifferentiatemyselfasaP-Rep?
- We suggest becoming active members of the ICON community, being responsive to your voters, coming up with a unique value-add in your proposal, maintaining transparency, etc. Earlier P-Rep
applicants will have the opportunity to be interviewed by The ICONist (a media publication dedicated to ICON) and/or members of the ICON team to help ingratiate you into the community
5.DoIhavetostakeICXtorunasaP-Repcandidate?
- A minimal amount of P-Rep registration fee is needed but extra ICX staking is not required.

  • 6. ICONSENSUS for P-Rep Candidates 6 . II. Why become a Public Representative? 1 Representative Reward • The size of the Representative Reward is decided through the I_rep variable (combination of the operation costs and profits), and the P (ICX Price) variable, which reflects the external economy. • The chart below is an example based on the ICON Network basic figures. Estimated costs and profits are as follows. I_rep and P derivation * Aboveis an examplestatedin the IISS Yellowpaper, and the valuesare subjectto changeby consensusamongP-Reps. I_rep Element Sub-element Value Explanation Operation Cost Server Cost $ 1,400 per month Based on AWS specification recommended by HR Cost $ 10,600 per Based on 3 part-time members Profit Rate 25% Estimated profit rate of a P-Rep Total $ 15,000 per Operation Cost x (1 + Profit Rate) = $ 12,000 x P Element Value Explanation Market Price of ICX $ 0.25 -
  • 7. ICONSENSUS for P-Rep Candidates 7 . II. Why become a Public Representative? 1 Representative Reward • The estimated reward size, based on the I_rep and P, are as shown below. Scenario Type Value Explanation If 1% of ICX circulation delegated to a Main P- Block Production and 30,000 ICX per month Representative Reward 30,000 ICX per month Total 60,000 ICX per month (= $ 15,000) If 2% of ICX circulation delegated to a Main P- Block Production and 30,000 ICX per month Representative Reward 60,000 ICX per Total 90,000 ICX per month (= $ 22,500) = 𝐼𝑟𝑒𝑝 × 1 2 𝑃 = 15,000 × 1 2 0.25 = 30,000 = 𝐼𝑟𝑒𝑝 × 1 2 × 100 𝑃 × 𝐷𝑒𝑙𝑒𝑔𝑎𝑡𝑖𝑜𝑛 𝑅𝑎𝑡𝑒 = 15,000 × 1 2 × 100 0.25 × 0.01 = 30,000 = 𝐼𝑟𝑒𝑝 × 1 2 𝑃 = 15,000 × 1 2 0.25 = 30,000 = 𝐼𝑟𝑒𝑝 × 1 2 × 100 𝑃 × 𝐷𝑒𝑙𝑒𝑔𝑎𝑡𝑖𝑜𝑛 𝑅𝑎𝑡𝑒 = 15,000 × 1 2 × 100 0.25 × 0.02 = 60,000

  • 15. We would expect the most active candidates (responsive to community questions, hosting ICON meetups, maintaining a website, etc.) to receive more votes from the community, however, if you are able to make it into the top 22 without much time commitment then that is all that matters. Earlier P-Rep applicants will have the opportunity to be interviewed by The ICONist (a media publication dedicated to ICON) and/or members of the ICON team to help ingratiate you into the community 5.DoIhavetostakeICXtorunasaP-Repcandidate? - A minimal amount of P-Rep registration fee is needed but extra ICX staking is not required.
