ICONSENSUS: ICON Public Network's governance modelJosh Choi
ICON's consensus algorithm "Delegated Proof of Contribution" is an innovative governance model which provides the fair and stable rewards for the contributors regardless of market fluctuation thanks to its bottom-up pricing, and creates various business opportunities for its P-REPs (Block Producers and Validators). It also seeks a hybrid governance model in which on-chain and off-chain governance works harmoniously.
Discusses the business imperative for mobile operators/carriers to generate a significant amount of their revenue from non-subscriber sources. The reasons behind the imperative are (1) the increasing cost of building and maintaining a competitive wireless network capable of delivering broadband data to subscribers consistent with the growing demand for mobile web, apps and other high bandwidth mobile services/media, and (2) the dropping or flattening of the voice margins and data margins on revenue from charges to subscribers. Consequently, to generate ROI on the cap ex on advanced mobile networks, the operators have no choice but to start generating substantially more revenue from non-subscriber sources.
Whitepaper to IPBC launches a free worldwide content distribution platform with a built-in cryptocurrency
Saber Maram, the co-founder and CEO of the company, defines the vision of IPBC to be a “worldwide innovative platform, in which performance and reward for copyright are brought to a new fair use level. In the future, this reward will no longer depend on your living area, advertising companies, data service providers or arbitrary decisions.”
“With IPBC, the content owner has direct contact with the market and its users. It is only this market that decides who gets paid, for what data and how high the payment will be. There is no more hierarchy to sort the service data providers, the portals or any other commercial entity.”

Building a Data and Analytics Platform from scratch is always difficult yet exciting and rewarding. There are many keys to success and getting this off the ground running before you get lost in the myriad of offerings, tools, and technologies ranging from Data Orchestration Tools, ETL / ELT, Cloud Data Warehouses, and BI tools.
During this talk, Peter Choe discusses some of the key areas to consider, tools and important concepts to ensure success in the delivery of a data platform. Peter walks you through a recent customer success story, using Airflow, Stitch, Databricks, Snowflake, and Looker. Peter explains some of the key factors in making these decisions, and we finally discuss some great KPIs and ROIs that were realized very early on.

A tale of scale & speed: How the US Navy is enabling software delivery from l...sonjaschweigert1
Rapid and secure feature delivery is a goal across every application team and every branch of the DoD. The Navy’s DevSecOps platform, Party Barge, has achieved:
- Reduction in onboarding time from 5 weeks to 1 day
- Improved developer experience and productivity through actionable findings and reduction of false positives
- Maintenance of superior security standards and inherent policy enforcement with Authorization to Operate (ATO)
Development teams can ship efficiently and ensure applications are cyber ready for Navy Authorizing Officials (AOs). In this webinar, Sigma Defense and Anchore will give attendees a look behind the scenes and demo secure pipeline automation and security artifacts that speed up application ATO and time to production.
We will cover:
- How to remove silos in DevSecOps
- How to build efficient development pipeline roles and component templates
- How to deliver security artifacts that matter for ATO’s (SBOMs, vulnerability reports, and policy evidence)
- How to streamline operations with automated policy checks on container images
Securing your Kubernetes cluster_ a step-by-step guide to success !KatiaHIMEUR1
Today, after several years of existence, an extremely active community and an ultra-dynamic ecosystem, Kubernetes has established itself as the de facto standard in container orchestration. Thanks to a wide range of managed services, it has never been so easy to set up a ready-to-use Kubernetes cluster.
However, this ease of use means that the subject of security in Kubernetes is often left for later, or even neglected. This exposes companies to significant risks.
In this talk, I'll show you step-by-step how to secure your Kubernetes cluster for greater peace of mind and reliability.

variable, which reflects the external economy.

• The ICON Network has high growth potential based on various on-chain governance and incentive systems
• Representative Election : P-Reps, the representatives of the entire ICON network and C-Reps, the representatives of each community network are selected through
on-chain election
• Ecosystem Expansion Project : Community members propose and implement projects and activities that contribute to ecosystem expansion
• DApp Booster Program : DApps on the ICON Network will receive a portion of the block rewards based on their ranking of DApp service
• P-Reps will play a major role within the network:
• Participate in on-chain governance decisions by submitting governance variables and network proposals
• Perform off-chain governance activities including network upgrades, developer and contributor cultivation
• Given the fact that network is yet in the early stage, the “Genesis P-Reps” will be entitled to a greater portion of rewards

15. ICONSENSUS for P-Rep Candidates 15 .
1.WhatisthecostofrunningaP-Repnode?
- Our current estimates show a maximum of $2,500per month for the AWS instance. However, we are actively trying to lower this number.
2.HowmuchofatimecommitmentisittorunaP-Repnode?
- This is entirely up to you! We would expect the most active candidates (responsive to community questions, hosting ICON meetups, maintaining a website, etc.) to receive more votes from the
community, however, if you are able to make it into the top 22 without much time commitment then that is all that matters.
3.WhatarethetermsofbecomingaP-Rep?
- There is no minimum requirement to register as a P-Rep, however, in order to become a Main P-Rep, that can produce and verify blocks, one must be delegated with at least 0.2%of the total ICX.
4.HowcanIdifferentiatemyselfasaP-Rep?
- We suggest becoming active members of the ICON community, being responsive to your voters, coming up with a unique value-add in your proposal, maintaining transparency, etc. Earlier P-Rep
applicants will have the opportunity to be interviewed by The ICONist (a media publication dedicated to ICON) and/or members of the ICON team to help ingratiate you into the community
5.DoIhavetostakeICXtorunasaP-Repcandidate?
- A minimal amount of P-Rep registration fee is needed but extra ICX staking is not required.
