If you are getting this email, it means that we think that you love the folks up in Appalachia as much as we do. Under the leadership of John Patton, Christ Community Church has forged a relationship with those who live up on Rattlesnake Ridge, McCreary County, Ky for the past 10 years. In particular, with Don Coffee and Barbara and Hilton Duncan (founders of Inter Community Ministries.)
As you may know, ICM is also know as the “community center” and it’s there that we hold VBS and our Women’s Ministry during our Appalachia Family Missions Trip each June. What you may not know, is that ICM owns a huge flat field with a covered pavilion and enough room to build a dormitory which will house small groups of about 30 people doing missions work in the area. Also, at the field, there is enough area for boy scouts to camp and enjoy the Big South Fork as well as do service projects.
As board members of ICM, and as members of Christ Community Church, Cammy Bethea, our World Missions Director, has asked us to share with you a unique opportunity going on right now.
Christ Community Church has agreed to spearhead the building of the dormitory. We believe that this will allow missions groups, and ICM, to go deeper in building relationships with the men, women, and children in the area, most of who are un-churched.
What we are asking of you is to consider giving a donation towards the building of the dormitory.
