Ways of the World:A Brief Global History By Tiffany Epley
Paleolithic Era Migration  100,000 years ago we started the migration from Africa out until 1500 years ago when Homo Sapiens settled on the Pacific Islands bringing animals and plants with them in canoes.
Agriculture After the ice age ended 16,000 years ago we settled, grew plants, and raised animals. Men and women were equal and performed most of the same tasks.  We grew in numbers flourishing from agriculture and developed tools, and started to develop small settlements.
The First Cities Sumerians’ was the first written language Egyptians ha d pharos and pyramids Note Chico exchanged fishing for goods.
The Roman Empire developed roads, bridges.  The Chinese Empire developed the crossbow, gunpowder, and weaponry. New Guinea  refined sugar.
Greco-Persian War Persian’s Greek’s 500 B.C. the biggest empire. Had 35 million people Adoption of foreign customs.  750 B.C  new empire Around for 400 years Called themselves “Hellenes” 2 to 3 million population Olympic games ,[object Object]
Despite the Persian size the Greeks won on land and sea .
Greek freedoms made men fight for  what they held so valuable. ,[object Object]
