programme is designed to prepare students for
the linguistic and academic demands of business-
related postgraduate level study in IBAT College
Dublin or other higher education institutions.
What will I learn?
You will:
• Improve your language skills and understanding
of key academic subject areas;
• Develop the necessary research skills for
postgraduate study;
• Increase in confidence and familiarity with
academic processes.
Pre-Masters Programmes
at IBAT College
At IBAT, you have two pre-Masters programmes to
choose from:
Pre-Masters Certificate in Management
Pre-Masters Diploma in Management
These are full-time preparation courses, focusing on
using academic English and learning study skills. They
are designed to prepare students for the linguistic and
academic demands of business-related postgraduate
level study. You will gain a broad knowledge of business
and management subjects and develop practical skills.
Applicants for the pre-Masters courses are usually
international prospective students coming from non-
business backgrounds, or graduates who have obtained
less than a 2:2 Bachelor’s degree.
Both programmes are validated by the University of
Wales, Trinity Saint David.
What is the difference between the
Pre-Masters Certificate and the
Pre-Masters Diploma?
Depending on students’ previous undergraduate results,
one may be more appropriate than the other. The IBAT
admissions office will advise you on the best choice.
