Chanakya IAS Academy Pune
There are two types of interviews in the Indian Administrative Services (IAS)
selection process:
Pre-Interview: A pre-interview is conducted after the written exam, also known as
the personal exam.
The purpose of this interview is to assess the candidate's personality,
communication skills and eligibility for the IAS.
The initial interview is usually held by the board of retired professionals,
professionals and experts. The first interview usually takes 30-40 minutes and
candidates are asked many things like current affairs, national and international
issues, backgrounds, hobbies and preferences.
Final Interview: The final interview is conducted by the Public Service Commission
(UPSC) composed of professionals, experts and others.
A final interview is usually held for candidates who pass the initial interview.
The purpose of the final interview is to identify a suitable candidate for IAS in terms
of leadership, management, communication and general personality.
Chanakya IAS Academy Pune
The final interview is usually more in-depth than the first interview and can take
up to an hour.
Pre- and post-interviews are important stages of the IAS selection process and
should be well prepared. Candidates should be aware of current events,
national and international issues and have a good understanding of their
options.
Candidates must be able to communicate effectively and demonstrate
leadership skills during negotiations. In addition, candidates should be well
prepared for questions about their resume, hobbies and interests.
