Good Stuff Happens in 1:1 Meetings: Why you need them and how to do them well
I was born in Baltimore Maryland
1. I was bornin Baltimore Maryland,Igrew upin a militaryhousehold.Myfatherwasan AirForce career
man.Consequentlywe livedandmovedtoa numberof placesbothabroad as well aswithinthe U.S.
I too served8 yearsinthe Air Force,and I toomovedmyfamilywithinandoutof the U.S. I have always
beena veryeasygoingpersonandextremelyopenmindedasfaras meetingpeople andacceptingthem
on theirlevel.Iwastoldat a youngage that strangersare friendsyouhave notmetyet. So I am eagerto
meetandengage conversationwithanyandall I encounter.Withthatinmind,itseemedappropriate
that I wouldgravitate towardssales:Cars,boats,windows,Multilevelmarketingopportunities,clothes,
and nowReal Estate.In 2006 I waslicensedandbeganmyReal Estate adventure.Isayadventure
because onlyIcouldbeginat the crest of the downwardspiral of the R. E. marketas we know it.What a
ride indeed.
But, in2008 an ideawasproduced inmy downtime.Icame up withwhatat the time was justa saying.
The more I lookedatitand pokedit,I evenwrote the firstpage of a blogfor it,thenit seemedtogaina
life andthenmyReal Estate businesspickedupandI fileditaway.InOctober of 2015 I was diagnosed
withProstate Cancer. It wasan eye opener;Ihad myProstate removedatJohnsHopkinsHospital
in...Waitforit...Baltimore!The place of mybirthand now I return tobegina rebirth, because afterthe
surgeryall of my testscame back negative andsotherefore noneedforchemo, radiationoranyother
invasive treatments.SoasI layinthe hospital,Icontemplatedmyfuture.Iamblessedwithgreatfamily
(onboth sides),alovingandsupportivewife,true friends,3beautifuldaughtersandIam doingwhatI
love. But,inmy mindI neededtoprepare somethingtoleave behind, somethingtobe rememberedby.
A legacyperhaps.Ibeganto thinkandit came back to the ideaIhad in 2008. Then the more I read
about,heardabout,discussedwithfriendsandfamily,andbecame exposedtothe viewsof certain
people inthe U.S.aboutcertaingroups of people Iknew thatwhatI had had to be shared.
People,regardlessof theirage,gender,sexual preference,national origin,religiousbeliefs,etc...Have a
rightto theirexistence.Thisrighthasbeengiventothembythe foundingfathersof thiscountry.Bythe
verywordschiseleduponthe tabletsof LadyLiberty.Created,penned,andthensignedintothe basisof
our country'sverycore values.There issomuchnegative talk,butverylittle positiveencouragement,
the kindof encouragementthatourparentsinstilledintousgivingusthe courage to voice ourthoughts
and heartfeltviews.SoIthought, howabouta space where peoplecanvoice how excitedtheyare to
not justbe in thiscountry, butto be a part of the Americancommunity, how proudtheyare of their
heritage,of whotheyare,of who theylove andwholovesthem.Maybe how beingable tomake a
contributiontowardsthe bettermentof the Governmentwithoutpersecution.Whatdoesitreallyfeel
like tobelong?Tobe an AMERICAN?
Then,once theyhave voicedthemselves,whetheronthe blog,the Facebookpage or Twitter,purchase a
tee shirtand uploada picture of themselvesonInstagram, orFacebookwiththe sloganupontheir
chest,proudlydisplayingtheirinclusiveness.Imagine millionsof people,youngaswell asold,fromall
walksof life,eachwiththe same shirtbutmaintainingtheirindividualism. Declaringtheirinclusionnot
theirexclusionasacitizenof AMERICA!! WOW!!
That's my story.
