VMware is an established virtualization platform that is easy to set up and works with most operating systems. It is continuously improved by its large development resources at EMC. It has strong relationships and integrations that enhance its networking and storage capabilities. Citrix is also easy to set up and has established upgrade processes, but may have higher costs than VMware for large organizations. It supports Nvidia GPUs and has easier network bonding than VMware. Hyper-V is easy to install but lacks the maturity of VMware and Citrix. It does not support all operating systems and has issues with network and cluster configurations.
