This paper presents a unique hybrid-frequency modulation method for extending the input voltage range of PWM-integrated resonant converters while maintaining high conversion efficiency. The modulation scheme reduces core and conduction losses by decreasing applied volt-seconds at the transformer and improving switching period utilization. It also maintains zero current switching, minimizes switching losses, and eliminates circulating energy across the entire operating range. Experimental results from a 180W prototype show over a 4% weighted efficiency improvement using this proposed method.

Simulation and Comparison of DVR and DSTATCOM Used for voltage sag mitigation...paperpublications3
Abstract: Power Quality problem in a system leads to various disturbances such as voltage fluctuations, transients and waveform distortions that results in a mis-operation or a failure of end user equipment. There are different types of custom power devices like Distribution Static Compensator (D-STATCOM) and Dynamic Voltage Restorer (DVR) which can effectively use for mitigation of different type of power quality problems. This paper describes the technique of correcting the supply voltage sag distributed system and also describes performance comparison are presented between DVR and DSTATCOM to know how both the devices successfully been applied to power system for regulating system voltage effectively. DSTATCOM and DVR both of them based on VSI principle. A DVR is a series compensation device which injects a voltage in series with system and a DSTATCOM is a shunt compensation device which injects a current into the system to correct the power quality problems. This paper presents a power system operation with PI controller with abc to dq0 convertor approach. Total Harmonics Distortion (THD) is also calculated for the system with and without compensation. Results are presented to assess the performance of devices as a potential custom power solution. Improve dynamic voltage control and thus increase system load ability. This paper presents modeling and simulation of DVR & DSTATCOM in MATLAB/Simulink.

This paper presents a component within the flexible ac-transmission system (FACTS) family, called
distributed power-flow controller (DPFC). The DPFC is derived from the unified power-flow controller (UPFC)
with an eliminated common dc link. The DPFC has the same control capabilities as the UPFC, which comprise
the adjustment of the line impedance, the transmission angle, and the bus voltage. The active power exchange
between the shunt and series converters, which is through the common dc link in the UPFC, is now through the
transmission lines at the third-harmonic frequency. DPFC multiple small-size single-phase converters which
reduces the cost of equipment, no voltage isolation between phases, increases redundancy and there by
reliability increases. The principle and analysis of the DPFC are presented in this paper and the corresponding
simulation results that are carried out on a scaled prototype are also shown.

This review paper is based on space vector based hysteresis current control in three phase PWM converter. In hysteresis current control technique, two, three or four level hysteresis comparator are used, which selects the appropriate inverter output voltage vectors by their switching phenomenon of vector based HCC, and it is used to control the current vector by keeping the current error vector in tolerance region. Through which the load gets desirable output current voltage. By keeping the zero phase difference between output current and voltage, acquires a high power factor by HCC voltage vector and this HCC voltage vector have some advantages over conventional HCC which are not to have interphase dependency and also maintaining constant modulation frequency or also reducing switching frequency. By this HCC, increase the system steady state performance and reducing dynamic response.

A Shunt Active Power Filter for 12 Pulse Converter Using Source Current Detec...IAES-IJPEDS
A shunt Active Power Filter (APF) with current detection at the source side
is considered as a closed-loop system from the view of the whole power
distribution system, which is expected with better harmonics filtering
performance compared with conventional current detection methods such as
load current detection and open loop control. This paper introduces an
efficient source current detection method (direct) control scheme to mitigate
the grid current harmonics generated by the twelve pulse converter. The
proposed system uses Control Rectifier (12 –pulse converter) which
efficiently regulates the DC voltage by varying the angle of each 6 pulse
converter. Moreover, the proposed system uses three winding transformer
which eliminates the harmonics during equal angles switching at each six
pulse converter which in turn simplifies the operation of the SAPF. The
proposed system is simulated in MATLAB SIMULINK to evaluate the
performance of the proposed system.
H6 Transformer less Topology and Its Modulation Strategy for Mitigating Cm Cu...IJERA Editor
MATLABbasedsingle-phase three-level topology for a transformer less photovoltaic system is presented in this paper. Compared with the conventional H-bridge topology, it only needs two additional asymmetrically distributed switches, and the system common-mode voltage can be kept constant with a simple modulation scheme. Family of H6 transformer less inverter topologies with low leakage currents is proposed and highly efficient and reliable inverter concept (HERIC) topology is also presented in this paper. The proposed inverter can also operate with high frequency by retaining high efficiency which enables reduced cooling system. Finally, the proposed new topology is simulated by MATLAB/Simulink software to validate the accuracy of the theoretical explanation.

Closed Loop Analysis of Multilevel Inverter Fed Drives IJPEDS-IAES
This paper deals with the simulation and implementation of multilevel inverter for drives application. Here the focuses will be onimproving the efficiency of the multilevel inverter and quality of output voltage waveform. The circuit is developed towards high efficiency, high performance, and low cost, simple control scheme. Harmonics Elimination was implemented to reduce the Total Harmonics Distortion (THD) value which is achieved by selecting appropriate switching angles. In this paper to determine the performance of rectifier, steady state analysis is done. Furthermore, the merits of multilevel inverter topology are inherited.Closed loop control is done to analysis the stability of the system.
This paper deals with implementation of a multi-output Series Resonant Inverter(SRI) for induction heating applications, which uses pulse density modulation(PDM) control for full bridge Series resonant inverters for output voltage and power control. It ensures better efficiency performances than conventional control strategies. The proposed converter can be considered as a two output extension of a full bridge inverter. This full bridge inverter can control the two outputs, simultaneously and independently, up to their rated powers, which reduces the usage of number of components as compared with conventional method. It also ensures higher utilization of switches used for its operation. A two output full bridge series resonant inverter is simulated and implemented. The Experimental results are compared with the simulation results.

Application of AGPU for Matrix ConvertersIAES-IJPEDS
A simple PI control loop for the matrix converter system is designed in the simulation to maintain a constant output voltage inspite of any disturbance in the source. The single phase matrix converter employs a modified safe- commutation strategy, which results in the elimination of voltage spikes on switches, without the need of a snubber circuit when there is an inductive load being utilized. This is facilitated through the proper switching control algorithm. The sine PWM pulses are generated as switching pulses to the converter to reduce the THD.

Hybrid frequency modulation for pwm-integrated resonant converters
1. HYBRID-FREQUENCY MODULATION FOR PWM-INTEGRATED
RESONANT CONVERTERS
ABSTRACT:
This paper presents a unique modulation method for extending the input range of pulse-width
modulation (PWM)-integrated resonant converters, such as the isolated boost resonant converter, while
maintaining high conversion efficiency. The technique includes primarily the hybridizing of constant-on,
constant-off, and fixed-frequency control depending only on the required duty cycle. The modulation
scheme reduces core loss and conduction loss dramatically by decreasing the applied volt-seconds at the
transformer and improving the switching period utilization. With hybrid-frequency control, the circuit also
maintains zero current switching for the output diodes, minimizes switching loss, and eliminates circulating
energy at the transformer across the entire operating range. It also allows for a predictable voltage gain,
dependent only on duty cycle and transformer turns ratio. A detailed loss analysis is provided and verified
against a 180 W experimental prototype, with an input range of 12-48 V and a switching frequency range of
30-70 kHz. Implementation issues are also handled with a variety of solutions for realizing the modulation
scheme. Experimental results show greater than 4% weighted efficiency improvement in the prototype using
the proposed method.
