Gerunds are verb forms that end in "-ing" and function as nouns, able to be used as subjects, direct objects, or objects of prepositional phrases. Some examples of gerunds used in different grammatical roles are meeting people face to face as a subject, being interested in meeting people face to face as the object of a preposition, and enjoying doing things now as the object of a preposition. The document encourages finding and using gerunds in sentences.
