Humayun's Tomb is located in Delhi and was commissioned by Begum Bega for the Mughal emperor Humayun. It was built between 1565-1572 and was the first garden tomb in India. The tomb features a double dome structure and is made from red sandstone from Dholpur and white marble from Makrana inlaid with black marble. It has an octagonal shape formed by chamfering the corners of its square ninefold plan, with eight vaulted chambers radiating from the central dome. Ornamentation includes sculpted gates, jaali screens, and fluted roofing. At 47 meters tall, it was the first Indian building to use the Persian double dome design.
