Humanities Research Paper This is a research paper project about a topic of our choice. The student should employ the research, texts material and discussions in class. The topic I have chosen was: Rise and history of blues/hip music in Black African American society. The themes that we discussed in class were: Racism, Discrimination, Racial Violence, Black Identity. The text material that we used was mainly James Baldwin book “Going To Meet The Man”. There’s a short story called “Sunnys Blues” that can help support. Here’s the proposal that I wrote for the paper: ‘’’ Music is a huge part in culture today. For example, blues and hip-hop have become an instrumental part in African-American culture. Blues music originated in the 16th century from Enslaved African-Americans.This gave a voice to their common experiences, where a majority of society was indoctrinated to eliminate their self-expression. Hip hop began as more of a melting pot of culture rather than a genre. Although the two genres of music started in different time era’s, blues was conceived similarly with the oppression of African- Americans at the time. With the disconnection to the rest of society, blues and hip hop became a major part of African-Americans culture. Hip Hop Culture on Good Influence
Hip hop refers to rap music, a genre of popular music developed by Latin and
Afro-Americans in the United States in the 1970s. It was that time in the history of the USA
when block parties were getting popular because rap music was promoting the cultural
movement in the most influential art form. While many people have a stereotype of hip-hop
culture, they think that hip-hop culture symbolizes dark and negative elements, such as drugs,
gangs, and murder, but in fact, hip-hop is a culture with a lot of positive value and influence.
Many raps convey a positive influence, such as Drake's God's plan. Some rapper songs are also
persuading people to stay away from violence, receive school education, help others, take care of
their families and change their destiny. And hip-hop artists are a way for many underrepresented
groups to speak out. They use hip-hop music to express their social and political issues and
attitudes. And hip-hop culture brings people together in different ways.
In the context of the origin of hip hop culture, it has been observed that cultural aspects
such as break dancing and graffiti were known to be the first aspects that caught the greater
public attention. A teenage Greek American, in 1972, started a graffiti movement by signing his
name and address on the walls of the subway system throughout New York City. The same

sparked many actions, till 1975, that rendered the names of individuals by spraying colors and
paintings on the wall, which ultimately led to influential art dealers all across Europe, the US,
and Japan to display graffiti in art galleries. Meanwhile, turntable manipulation techniques were
being developed by deejays by playing short drum brakes, which created a rhythmic effect
known as scratching. In the US, rap first came as a prominent genre of music on the national
level by the release of the song "Rappers Delight'" by Sugarhill Gang in 1979. In the context of
the timeline of the hip-hop culture, the most notable event that led to the initiation of this
movement in the incident of Kool Herc holding his hip-hop parties in 1973. In 1979, the first
recorded rap song was released, followed by Curtis Blows single "The Breaks" massive sales in
1980. The last "old school" hip hop party was held by Kool Herc in 1984, and 'The Show" was
created by Doue E. Fresh in 1985. Later in 1986, Run DMC remixes like "Walk This Way" led
to the opening of hip hop to new audiences, and gangster rap was also formed at the same time.
Furthermore, in 1992, "The Chronic" was written by Dr Dre that launched him and labeled him
as a hip-hop icon in the world of rap music. Besides, the contemporary age of hip-hop culture
has begun in the 2000s. According to Complex, 2021, Kanye West is one of the successful

Hip hop music was originally played by live bands. However, producers like Marly Marl felt bands did not accurately capture the sound of hip hop that was popular in places like Harlem and the Bronx. That sound involved scratching, echoes, beatboxing, and breakbeats - elements that were difficult for live bands to recreate. This disconnect between the studio recordings and live hip hop events influenced producers to start using drum machines and samplers rather than bands.

CASE STUDY:
Working With Survivors of Sexual Abuse and Trauma: The Case of Brenna
Brenna is an 18-year-old, heterosexual, African American female. She is pregnant, residing in a homeless shelter, and has no income source. Brenna was raised by her biological mother in a one-bedroom apartment in an urban neighborhood. When Brenna was 15 years old, her mother began dating a new man. This man sexually assaulted Brenna while they were home alone one evening. She immediately disclosed the sexual assault to her mother who called her a liar and told her to move out. Brenna then lived in a variety of situations, sometimes residing with friends for short periods and sometimes living in a youth shelter. During this period she attended high school intermittently but did not graduate.
After her 18th birthday, Brenna moved in with her boyfriend, Cameron. Also living in the household were Cameron’s mother, his 16-year-old sister, and a 7-year-old brother. Shortly after moving in with Cameron, Brenna became pregnant with his child. Prior to the pregnancy, Cameron would often abuse her physically, verbally, and emotionally. When Brenna announced the pregnancy, Cameron became even more violent, accused her of sleeping with other men, and denied paternity of the baby. When Brenna was 4 months pregnant, Cameron attempted to strangle her, so Brenna moved to a shelter. Although the shelter was willing to house Brenna and her newborn temporarily, their policy required Brenna to secure new living arrangements prior to giving birth.
I was assigned to be Brenna’s social work case manager at this shelter. Brenna and I worked together to set manageable goals during her stay at the shelter and also developed a plan for ongoing mental health support. Utilizing individual case manage- ment sessions, I worked with Brenna to prioritize goals regarding nancial stability, permanent housing, and medical care. Brenna had dif culty reading and writing, so we worked together to

CASE STUDY:
Working With Survivors of Sexual Abuse and Trauma: The Case of Brenna
Brenna is an 18-year-old, heterosexual, African American female. She is pregnant, residing in a homeless shelter, and has no income source. Brenna was raised by her biological mother in a one-bedroom apartment in an urban neighborhood. When Brenna was 15 years old, her mother began dating a new man. This man sexually assaulted Brenna while they were home alone one evening. She immediately disclosed the sexual assault to her mother who called her a liar and told her to move out. Brenna then lived in a variety of situations, sometimes residing with friends for short periods and sometimes living in a youth shelter. During this period she attended high school intermittently but did not graduate.
After her 18th birthday, Brenna moved in with her boyfriend, Cameron. Also living in the household were Cameron’s mother, his 16-year-old sister, and a 7-year-old brother. Shortly after moving in with Cameron, Brenna became pregnant with his child. Prior to the pregnancy, Cameron would often abuse her physically, verbally, and emotionally. When Brenna announced the pregnancy, Cameron became even more violent, accused her of sleeping with other men, and denied paternity of the baby. When Brenna was 4 months pregnant, Cameron attempted to strangle her, so Brenna moved to a shelter. Although the shelter was willing to house Brenna and her newborn temporarily, their policy required Brenna to secure new living arrangements prior to giving birth.
I was assigned to be Brenna’s social work case manager at this shelter. Brenna and I worked together to set manageable goals during her stay at the shelter and also developed a plan for ongoing mental health support. Utilizing individual case manage- ment sessions, I worked with Brenna to prioritize goals regarding nancial stability, permanent housing, and medical care. Brenna had dif culty reading and writing, so we worked together to

Social change can be at the micro scale (that positively shape values, attitudes and behaviors) or at the macro scale (that positively shape

Income and wages are measurable indicators of how prosperity is distributed amongst social class. Wealth, often determined by an individual's net worth (assets minus liabilities), is another indicator that is used to determine class. Wealth for working class families is measured by their cars, savings, and home. As people improve their social and economic standing, wealth may include things like stocks and bonds, commercial real estate, and expensive jewelry.
Wealth is an important indicator because it spans past, present, and future generations. For example, compare the children of parents who can save money and leave an inheritance with children of parents who economically struggle and have few assets to pass on to the next generation. Historically, the creation and accumulation of wealth provides evidence of the legacy of racism, sexism, and discrimination and their role in determining class. Black/African Americans, women, and Hispanic/Latinos have historically been denied the means to obtain assets and grow wealth. Consider the impact of chronic marginalization on the Black/African American community's ability to build wealth. While the income gaps between various ethnic groups may be decreasing, the gap between assets remains wide. Data from the Pew Research center show that the median wealth of Caucasian households is 20 times that of Black/African American households and 18 times that of Hispanic/Latinos households in the U.S. (Pew Research Center, 2011).
Class extends beyond wealth and other financial indicators. Class also includes details like the amount of free time you enjoy (because you are not working three jobs to make ends meet) or feeling like there is a "right" way to speak and act in order to be heard. For this Discussion, analyze how classism has impacted your life.

This Dissertation explores the particular circumstances of Mirzapur, a region located in the
core of India. Mirzapur, with its varied terrains and abundant biodiversity, offers an optimal
environment for investigating the changes in vegetation cover dynamics. Our study utilizes
advanced technologies such as GIS (Geographic Information Systems) and Remote sensing to
analyze the transformations that have taken place over the course of a decade.
The complex relationship between human activities and the environment has been the focus
of extensive research and worry. As the global community grapples with swift urbanization,
population expansion, and economic progress, the effects on natural ecosystems are becoming
more evident. A crucial element of this impact is the alteration of vegetation cover, which plays a
significant role in maintaining the ecological equilibrium of our planet.Land serves as the foundation for all human activities and provides the necessary materials for
these activities. As the most crucial natural resource, its utilization by humans results in different
'Land uses,' which are determined by both human activities and the physical characteristics of the
land.
The utilization of land is impacted by human needs and environmental factors. In countries
like India, rapid population growth and the emphasis on extensive resource exploitation can lead
to significant land degradation, adversely affecting the region's land cover.
Therefore, human intervention has significantly influenced land use patterns over many
centuries, evolving its structure over time and space. In the present era, these changes have
accelerated due to factors such as agriculture and urbanization. Information regarding land use and
cover is essential for various planning and management tasks related to the Earth's surface,
providing crucial environmental data for scientific, resource management, policy purposes, and
diverse human activities.
Accurate understanding of land use and cover is imperative for the development planning
of any area. Consequently, a wide range of professionals, including earth system scientists, land
and water managers, and urban planners, are interested in obtaining data on land use and cover
changes, conversion trends, and other related patterns. The spatial dimensions of land use and
cover support policymakers and scientists in making well-informed decisions, as alterations in
these patterns indicate shifts in economic and social conditions. Monitoring such changes with the
help of Advanced technologies like Remote Sensing and Geographic Information Systems is

- 1. Humanities Research Paper This is a research paper project about a topic of our choice. The student should employ the research, texts material and discussions in class. The topic I have chosen was: Rise and history of blues/hip music in Black African American society. The themes that we discussed in class were: Racism, Discrimination, Racial Violence, Black Identity. The text material that we used was mainly James Baldwin book “Going To Meet The Man”. There’s a short story called “Sunnys Blues” that can help support. Here’s the proposal that I wrote for the paper: ‘’’ Music is a huge part in culture today. For example, blues and hip-hop have become an instrumental part in African-American culture. Blues music originated in the 16th century from Enslaved African-Americans.This gave a voice to their common experiences, where a majority of society was indoctrinated to eliminate their self-expression. Hip hop began as more of a melting pot of culture rather than a genre. Although the two genres of music started in different time era’s, blues was conceived similarly with the oppression of African- Americans at the time. With the disconnection to the rest of society, blues and hip hop became a major part of African-Americans culture. Hip hop and blues are related and we will discuss how and why they are a centerpiece of self expression in African American communities.
