RTE faces challenges in simulating its hybrid AC/DC transmission network due to limitations of offline simulation tools. Real-time simulation allows RTE to:
1) Validate models of HVDC and FACTS devices which use proprietary control systems that are difficult to model accurately offline.
2) Maintain models over decades as equipment changes without needing to update offline simulation software.
3) Perform fast simulations studying many configurations to deliver results quickly.

El Monitoreo automatizado de taludes empinados, excavaciones y terraplenes altos; permite la detección temprana de la inestabilidad y se puede utilizar para evitar o mitigar las posibles fallas de taludes.
Los sistemas que utilizan múltiples y diferentes tipos de sensores se han desarrollado y probado con éxito en la Mina Highland Valley Copper en la Columbia Británica. Estos sistemas utilizan estaciones totales robóticas (RTS) como principales sensores de medición, con levantamientos repetidas en intervalos predefinidos seleccionados para optimizar la eficiencia operativa.
Esta metodología ha sido desarrollada para mejorar el sistema de exactitud y fiabilidad mediante la reducción de los efectos de errores sistemáticos creados por la refracción atmosférica e instrumento inestable y posiciones de punto de referencia. La inclusión de sensores GPS para monitorear las posiciones RTS crea flexibilidad operativa adicional y mantiene la integridad del sistema cuando las estaciones de referencia disponibles son insuficientes.

This paper describes a speed control device for generating electrical energy on an electricity network based on the doubly fed induction generator (DFIG) used for wind power conversion systems. At first, a double-fed induction generator model was constructed. A control law is formulated to govern the flow of energy between the stator of a DFIG and the energy network using three types of controllers: proportional integral (PI), sliding mode controller (SMC) and second order sliding mode controller (SOSMC). Their different results in terms of power reference tracking, reaction to unexpected speed fluctuations, sensitivity to perturbations, and resilience against machine parameter alterations are compared. MATLAB/Simulink was used to conduct the simulations for the preceding study. Multiple simulations have shown very satisfying results, and the investigations demonstrate the efficacy and power-enhancing capabilities of the suggested control system.

UAV System with Terrestrial Geo - Referencing
1) The document describes a method for mapping small land parcels using a UAV integrated with terrestrial geo-referencing. A UAV equipped with a camera flies over the area to be mapped while a total station on the ground measures the camera position to geo-reference the aerial photos.

El documento compara diferentes métodos de levantamiento topográfico y describe las ventajas de usar lidar. Lidar permite obtener datos topográficos de manera más rápida y económica que otros métodos, debido a su capacidad única de ofrecer rapidez, exactitud y gran cantidad de información. Aunque lidar no es la mejor opción para todos los proyectos, puede ser muy útil cuando se necesitan grandes cantidades de datos topográficos sujetos a restricciones presupuestarias y de tiempo.

El Monitoreo automatizado de taludes empinados, excavaciones y terraplenes altos; permite la detección temprana de la inestabilidad y se puede utilizar para evitar o mitigar las posibles fallas de taludes.
Los sistemas que utilizan múltiples y diferentes tipos de sensores se han desarrollado y probado con éxito en la Mina Highland Valley Copper en la Columbia Británica. Estos sistemas utilizan estaciones totales robóticas (RTS) como principales sensores de medición, con levantamientos repetidas en intervalos predefinidos seleccionados para optimizar la eficiencia operativa.
Esta metodología ha sido desarrollada para mejorar el sistema de exactitud y fiabilidad mediante la reducción de los efectos de errores sistemáticos creados por la refracción atmosférica e instrumento inestable y posiciones de punto de referencia. La inclusión de sensores GPS para monitorear las posiciones RTS crea flexibilidad operativa adicional y mantiene la integridad del sistema cuando las estaciones de referencia disponibles son insuficientes.

This paper describes a speed control device for generating electrical energy on an electricity network based on the doubly fed induction generator (DFIG) used for wind power conversion systems. At first, a double-fed induction generator model was constructed. A control law is formulated to govern the flow of energy between the stator of a DFIG and the energy network using three types of controllers: proportional integral (PI), sliding mode controller (SMC) and second order sliding mode controller (SOSMC). Their different results in terms of power reference tracking, reaction to unexpected speed fluctuations, sensitivity to perturbations, and resilience against machine parameter alterations are compared. MATLAB/Simulink was used to conduct the simulations for the preceding study. Multiple simulations have shown very satisfying results, and the investigations demonstrate the efficacy and power-enhancing capabilities of the suggested control system.

The aquaponic system of planting is a method that does not require soil usage. It is a method that only needs water, fish, lava rocks (a substitute for soil), and plants. Aquaponic systems are sustainable and environmentally friendly. Its use not only helps to plant in small spaces but also helps reduce artificial chemical use and minimizes excess water use, as aquaponics consumes 90% less water than soil-based gardening. The study applied a descriptive and experimental design to assess and compare conventional and reconstructed aquaponic methods for reproducing tomatoes. The researchers created an observation checklist to determine the significant factors of the study. The study aims to determine the significant difference between traditional aquaponics and reconstructed aquaponics systems propagating tomatoes in terms of height, weight, girth, and number of fruits. The reconstructed aquaponics system’s higher growth yield results in a much more nourished crop than the traditional aquaponics system. It is superior in its number of fruits, height, weight, and girth measurement. Moreover, the reconstructed aquaponics system is proven to eliminate all the hindrances present in the traditional aquaponics system, which are overcrowding of fish, algae growth, pest problems, contaminated water, and dead fish.
