This is because mid-sized to large companies require a professional to take care of all the hiring, the medical questions, and be the resource of information for all the workers. So what does an HR professional do and what kinds of degrees are available if I want to continue my education in that field? In short, human resources are the people that staff and operate an organization. When you reply to most job ads, your usually emailing the HR staff that takes care of the shuffle of resumes. From there, the HR’s duty is to sort through the ones that seem most suitable for the job and call them in for interviews. Sometimes you are interviewed by the HR staff but a lot of the times you are required to see the direct boss that you are going to be working. Once you are hired, you will see the HR staff again for the paperwork that needs to be completed for your hire. They take care of all your contracts, financial paper work (such as your W-2, 1099 form, etc) and healthcare paperwork if necessary. Moreover, if a problem at your work occurs, for example, you got sexually harassed by a coworker; your HR staff is the person you would turn to again. In short- they are there for your resources and they are there to help you. Does this job sound ideal to you, do you want to be the go-to person for such resources in your company. Then look no further, HR may be the perfect job for you! Being in HR requires you to be organized, timely and definitely on top of your work. You deal with a lot of people and a lot of legal paperwork as well. The great things about a job in the HR field are that there are many opportunities for you once you get your foot in the door.  People take widely divergent paths while working in Human Resources. You can transition to HR management or even move on up to become an office manager or an office administrator because you become so well acquainted with how the office rolls. Now, what are the degrees that are available for me online? We say this time and time again but online education have come such a long way, certificates, degrees, and simply classes that are taken online are very beneficial to working professionals. If you take a look at our website, you will see that there are a lot of online colleges that offer a variety of online degrees. South University for example offers HR management bachelor of business, Sullivan University offers Bachelor of Science degree in HR leadership, and Colorado Christian University offers an online degree in organization management in HR. Besides these online courses, there are tons on campus colleges that offer classes and degrees in HR which might easily fit into your busy schedule.
