Make sure you clean it or it will cloud the water.

Fill your tank with 1-2 inches of gravel or sand.

qTake your filter and rinse the sponge inside.
qThen position the filter inside the tank with the suckers on the back (if your
filter has them) or just position it normally.
qPlug your filter in and it will stutter for a minute and then start spouting
water. If your filter is underwater you can tell if it`s running by the air bubbles
spouting out with the water.

qChoose an ornament or bubble blower that is the right size for your tank.
qIt should not overcrowd the tank as fish like to swim in open places and
hide aswell.
qIt is better to have small ornaments as it makes the tank look more
spacious.

qFind out or estimate the volume (the amount of water) of the tank as you do
not want an overcrowded tank.
qChoose a fish that is size appropriate for your tank.
qThen find out the quantity of fish that you will be able to buy for your tank.
qWhen buying a fish it should:
qHave clear eyes
qSwim stably
qHave good colouring and not have white spots all over it (you can easily tell
if this is indeed white spot or it`s natural colour).

qFirst take the elastic band or tape from around the top of the bag.
qThen pinch the right corner at the top.
qThen pinch the right bottom corner WITHOUT spilling the water and fish
out.
qYou then gently tip the bag, put the lip of it in the water and pour the fish
into the tank.
