As ransomware has become a matter of “when” rather than “if”, a ransomware recovery plan is as important as a business plan. With a documented and tested ransomware recovery plan, organizations, big and small, can make sure that their critical operations can recover quickly and critical information, such as PII, PHI, etc. is safe from ransomware.Ransomware attacks continue to grow in number, scale, and complexity. To make sure your critical data is protected, plan and prepare beforehand with backup and DR that uses air-gapping and immutability.

Are ransomware attacks the problem for web hosting firms?ahanashrin
This article includes information about what is ransomware. What is its impact on web hosting firms? What to Do When Infected With a Ransomware Attacks?
Ransomware is a malignant software that encrypts one’s data and demands a ransom from the
user in exchange for unlocking files. Victims of ransomware are often left without many
choices. They can either pay the ransom to regain access to their encrypted data, restore their
data from backups, or hope that a decryption key is freely available. Or they have to start
from scratch
Ransomware - Information And Protection Guide - Executive SummaryBright Technology
A relatively new phenomenon involving malware and viruses is ransomware, where malicious outsiders implant a program in your computer that can prevent you from accessing your operating system or using your files. The hackers then demand a ransom in the form of payment to an account they designate to restore access to your system and files. First seen in Russia, the practice has since spread worldwide, with ransomware costing organisations millions of dollars per year in payments. This executive summary describes the different types of ransomware and outlines steps you can take to protect your valuable IT assets from the practice.
Backup is always been the best way to deal with ransomware. Make sure to back up your data in a separate external storage device or you can store your data in the cloud. Use Capebera.com -cloud service to store your data and the best part of the cloud is that it’s not connected to your computer. And in case, your data get encrypted with ransomware threats, you can reboot or reset your system and get back up your data again using Capebera.

Optimize your AWS FEST - N2WS session - Addressing the Relentless Threat of R...OK2OK
The pandemic jolted the world of IT out of its collective slumber. Cybercriminals continue to profit off ransomware attacks in record numbers, as more workers are working remotely. This leaves no business on the cloud immune to the threat of ransomware.
As methods and technology continue to advance it is critical that companies have multiple lines of defense in 2021.
In N2WS session (n2ws.com) during the March 2021 Optimize your AWS FEST (awsfest2021.com), we show how flexible and automatic cloud backup and efficient disaster recovery can save your company from losing all of its data in the case of a ransomware attack. Learn how to minimize your RTO, effectively restore your entire systems or just a file, clone your VPC environment and much more in order to 'Ransomware-proof' your cloud for 2021.

Wireless communication involves the transmission of information over a distance without the help of wires, cables or any other forms of electrical conductors.
Wireless communication is a broad term that incorporates all procedures and forms of connecting and communicating between two or more devices using a wireless signal through wireless communication technologies and devices.
Features of Wireless Communication
The evolution of wireless technology has brought many advancements with its effective features.
The transmitted distance can be anywhere between a few meters (for example, a television's remote control) and thousands of kilometers (for example, radio communication).
Wireless communication can be used for cellular telephony, wireless access to the internet, wireless home networking, and so on.

Being Prepared Leads to Successful Recovery
Ransomware attacks are on the rise! Enterprise data has become a very lucrative target for
cybercriminals. Even with robust defense mechanisms in place, ransomware attacks continue to
increase. In the first half of 2020, there were approximately 2.5 million new ransomware attacks,
according to the November 2020 McAfee Labs Threat Report.
Encryption ransomware:
Encrypts files, folders, and shared
network storage.
Network-attached storage (NAS)
ransomware: Encrypts and/or
deletes files on home directories,
virtual machine (VM) hypervisor
backups, shadow volumes, and
backup files.
Lock screen ransomware: Locks
the user’s computer screen and
demands payment, but no personal
files are encrypted.
According to the U.S.
Department of Health
and Human Services Fall
2019 OCR Cybersecurity
Newsletter, the FBI estimates
that cybercriminals will earn
over $1 billion in ransom.
Response and recovery plan with
playbook: These should be reviewed
and updated periodically and stored in a
secure, post-attack accessible manner
(such as a printed copy).
Employee response team: Include
stakeholders across departments and
specify who will be responsible for
executing and managing the plan. Hold
training sessions and perform drills.
Communication plan: Give thought to
what will be inaccessible, and then identify
alternate means of communicating both
internally and externally.
Prioritize system recovery: Knowing
which systems need attention first and
how they interact with other systems will
facilitate a smooth and orderly recovery.
Data backup: There are so many choices
now for backup solutions, so determine
what is best for your business: locally,
offsite, cloud – you choose.
System protection: Ensure all critical
systems and data are being protected in
a manner that guarantees Recovery Point
Objectives (RPOs) and Recovery Time
Objectives (RTOs) can be met.
Tools to identify affected data:
Having this data during an attack will be
invaluable in speeding up recovery and
preserving uninfected data.
Practice your plan: Without testing, there
can be no assurance that the recovery
plan will work when an attack happens.
Testing also provides the experience and
confidence to response team members.
The U.S. Cybersecurity and Infrastructure
SecurityAgency’s (CISA) ransomware site defines
ransomware as: a type of malicious software, or
malware, designed to deny access to a computer
system or data until a ransom is paid. Ransomware
typically spreads through phishing emails or by
unknowingly visiting an infected website.
TYPES OF RANSOMWARE ATTACKS
Hardware locker: Changes the
computer’s master boot record
(MBR), preventing the operating
system from properly starting.
Application/web server encryption:
Encrypts files and web servers
through application vulnerabilities.
Ransomware as a Service (RaaS):
Widely available on the Dark Web,
RaaS enables practically anyone to
attack an organization.
Data exfiltration: Reads critical data
from the attacked systems and copies
it to the attacker.
Taking the time to prepare for
a ransomware attack is key to
successfully recovering from one.
