The Issue Of Crowd Disorder
This article looks at the issues of crowd disorder, sometimes referred to as football hooliganism as
stated by (Dunning et al.,1988 Scott and Pearson 2007). (Marsh et al.,1996) quotes that the
phenomenon that is football hooliganism has been over researched over the years, but this article
looks at different points of views of hooliganismit has results of many different ethnographic studies
that took place between 1995 and 2010. The research was undertaken by different authors and
involved five in depth longitudinal studies with fans from Liverpool, Everton, Manchester united,
Cardiff city and Blackpool and also the England national team. The first author s research included
59 interviews, 23 focus groups and 39 crowd observations... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Even though academic research has developed greatly and during this time the line between fan
and hooligan has been challenged many of times but people still have their traditional view. For
example Edge in 1997 says that hooligans are a cancer and an unwelcome infiltration in the ranks
of us true fans (Edge 1997:15). Williams in 2001 supports that by edge and also adds that many
fans did not attend matches during the perceived height of hooliganism due to their fear of
violence. Despite these statements this paper argues that this does not reflect the opinion of many
other fans. An interview that took place in Liverpool November 2004 one fans says commentators
on the subject of hooliganism do not tell you what fans really think. (Interview, Liverpool,
November 9th 2004). However in this Hayley and Johnston in 1998 examine how violence can help
a hooligan for example gaining a status such as a true nutter in football (Hayley and Johnston,
1998) and Poulton in 2003 says that many hooligans enjoy notoriety. (Poulton, 2003:19). None of
these statement question fans though they are both just assumptions made by people. The research
in this article says that most fans that were interviewed refused to condemn hooliganism but they
had positive attitudes for it. But overall this does not say that all the fans that were interviewed in
this study agreed with hooliganism, some fans complained about hooliganism ruining the game for
them and

Theme Of Death Of A Salesman
Death of Salesman In Theatre Mitu s hyper theatrical production of Death of A Salesman by
Arthur Miller, many aspects were added to heighten the messages and morals of the story about
the American Dream. The stage is a fluorescently lit square with no set pieces besides a black
chair that sits in the center. Once the characters enter many things are different from a typical
production of Death of Salesman. The costumes resemble the traditional idea, but with a twist.
Willy wears a white collared shirt, but the upper sleeves are ripped off, so when he wears his blazer
during the flashbacks, you can not see the missing sleeves. Linda wears a dress resembling a maid
or a housewife. Both Linda and Willy wear masks with wrinkles when... Show more content on

The other characters are used as pawns to convey this story of loss and regret. Therefore, we no
longer see these characters as people, but more as passing ideas. The director confronts the
materialistic values of the American Dream and how quality of life is measured by what you own,
how good of a job you have, and how well you are liked by others.
The objectification of the other characters is obvious in Happ being a literal punching bag. This
displays the abuse and rejection he receives from his family. In one of the first scenes of the play
Biff begins to punch Happ in a playful way, but as the show progresses Linda strikes the
punching bag when she is yelling at the boys about abandoning their father. By doing this the
lens of the story is narrowed to the Lomans, and even smaller, to the relationship between Biff and
Willy. As a teenager, Willy puts pressure on Biff to be everything he was never able to be. Biff is
the star football player and plans to attend a good college. He is supposed to bring honor to the
Loman name, but when he fails Biff s facade is dropped and Willy only sees him as a failure which
he is responsible for. This is visible in the flashbacks by Willy addressing Biff s football gear as
Biff himself, but in the present Biff only carries his football gear in his hand.
Willy carries around an open, empty briefcase

Benefits Of Retirement Plan Will Fit Financial Needs
Introduction
Choosing which retirement plan will fit financial needs is not always the easiest decision to make.
While investing in both traditional and Roth individual retirement accounts (IRAs) appears to draw
considerable attention, differences in the rules for contributing to and withdrawing from these
retirement plans places individuals and married couples in a predicament. They may choose to
invest in either a traditional or Roth IRA while they may also choose to invest in self direct, direct
contribution (DB) or defined benefit (DB) plans sponsored by employers. In any case, individuals
and married couples approaching retirement age should carefully consider their own financial needs
before choosing to invest in any retirement ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Other types of earned income include alimony and military differential pay, but does not include
interest or dividends from investments, income from rental property and pension payments (para.
3). In terms of contribution limits for individuals and married couples with a Roth IRA, if earned
income for one year is less than the contribution limits, they may only contribute up the total
earned income amount (para. 4). As of 2014, for individuals and married couples under the age of
50, the annual contribution limit is $5,500. For married couples filing separately, the earned
income limit for making contributions to a Roth IRA is $10,000. Otherwise, a married filing
separately does not have any eligibility for making contributions to a Roth IRA.
Tax Incentives Both traditional and Roth IRAs have generous tax incentives (Spors, para. 3).
However, claiming the tax incentives for either a traditional or a Roth IRA depends on timing. With
traditional IRAs, contributions made to it based on earned income are tax deductible on both state
and federal income tax returns for each year that an individual or married couple contributes (para.
3). Withdrawals made during retirement receive the ordinary income tax rate (para. 3). Roth IRAs,
however, do not provide any tax incentives for any contributions made to the account, though
earnings and withdrawals are mostly tax free (para. 3). In other words, with traditional IRAs,
contributions do not have

Analysis Of The Book Healing The Soul On The Age Of The...
The book Healing the Soul in the Age of the Brain by Elio Frattaroli, M.D. Explains why
medication isn t enough when treating mental illness. The Talking Cure by Susan C.Vaughan
explains why traditional therapy offers a chance for long term relief more than any other drug.
In this essay, I will write about what I have learned from both books, and I will provide examples
of how effective therapy is and the impact that can do on clients. I will explain why medication
is not always enough for clients suffering from mental illness. Also, I will compare the content
of both books with the Comer s psychological models. Based on my perception from both books,
Healing the Soul in the Age of the Brain, Frattaroli is a practicing psychoanalyst whose
hypothesis is that the psychiatric symptoms shown by clients, are an expression of unsolved
struggles and require to be worked throughout the psychotherapeutic method by a process of
transference and countertransference with the analyst. The book is remarkably useful in
explaining and speculating these processes and also in explaining Freud s different models of the
brain. Frattaroli develops his case when he implies that those who prefer the quick psychotropic
fix to the lengthy and costly processes of psychoanalytic therapy are giving expression to a
mentality that seeks to evade psychological disturbances and to renew balance before all else.
Using the analogy of learning to ride a bicycle Frattaroli suggests that an apprentice must be

The Bowenian Approach to Family Therapy Essay example
The Bowenian Approach to Family Therapy Summer D. Parrott Liberty University March 1, 2015
Abstract This paper will summarize the theory of family systems developed by Murray Bowen. It
will describe the eight key components to Bowenian therapy and the techniques used during
practice. Strengths and limitations will be exposed, followed by a summary of the importance of
integration between psychology and family systems theory. Keywords: Bowen, integration, family
systems theory Part I Introduction Bowen family systems theory is based on the view that the
family is an emotional unit. The theory uses systems thinking to describe the interactions and
relationships within the family. Given families are deeply... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Those who are undifferentiated, on the other hand, react emotionally and impetuously. Unable to
maintain their own autonomy, they become fused with others in their family. Their emotional
patterns are in sync with other members and they have a difficult time separating what they feel
from the emotions of the family unit (Kerr Bowen, 1988). Intelligence does not determine the
level of differentiation. Highly intelligent people can have low differentiation. The level of
differentiation refers to the degree in which a family member can think and act for themselves
while dealing with an emotional issue (Kerr Bowen, 1988). Intimate relationships often include
bouts of anxiety. In families, as the anxiety increases between two people, they make seek to
bring in a third person to attempt to gain stability. This process is known as triangulation. With
the involvement of the third person, the anxiety is spread across more people and appears to
lighten. While the tension may appear to decrease, the possibility of increasing the original
problem persists. With three players now involved, the original dyad fails to solve the problem
which caused the anxiety to begin with (Bevcar, 2009). Bowen researchers consider triangles to be
a normal part of relationships. Triangles are the basis of Bowen s multigenerational theory
(Rabstejnek, 2012). If anxiety and reactivity can be properly managed, triangles

Family Life Revealed In Taoist Writings
Have you ever heard of Taoist Writings? Taoist Writings were initially created to provide
guidance to wise rulers or those who wished to live wisely. Through the poem, Tao Te Ching, I
learned that the culture centuries ago believed that life happens to you and nothing you do can
change it. Therefore, they preferred to sit back and accept their fate. In this poem, there are
fundamentals that we still in modern times live by. For instance, we both believe family is the
most important thing in our life. A quote from the poem that proves they held this value, In family
life, be completely present (Mitchell 414). A concrete example from modern times that proves we
have this value is Thanksgiving. On Thanksgiving, we get together with our family to celebrate. It
is believed that without a family it is difficult to live happily since there is no one to cherish and
appreciate you. Without a family, you can not share your happiness. Therefore, I believe that we
share this fundamental with the people back when Tao Te Chingwas written.... Show more content

For example, in the poem, it, speaks of the ideal where people act without doing anything. A
quote from the poem that proves they held this value is, Therefore the Master acts without doing
anything and teaches without saying anything (Mitchell 414). In modern day, you will find that
this ideal is not respected or preached. In America, we believe that you will achieve nothing if
you don t apply hard work and dedications. Those who take the initiative, are the ones who
succeed. A personal example would be my sisters. My sister is getting her masters in political
science and has done multiple internships so she can get somewhere in life. Due to the reasons
mentioned above, you can see how this is an idea that we do not

Annotated Bibliography For Homeschooling
Annotated Bibliography for Homeschooling
Education in our society is a very important factor in shaping our future. One s future is depended
on the education they receive and everyone is somehow affected by this. Children from the ages of
kindergarteners to seniors in high school, college graduates, and stay at home mothers, are all
shaped by the education the government provides us. There are many different ways to acquire an
education some through private schools, public, charter, and being homeschooled. However,
homeschooling is growing more in popularity than it has ever been.
Brown, Dave F. Why America s Public Schools Are the Best Place for Kids: Reality vs. Negative
Perceptions. Lanham, Md., Rowman Amp; Littlefield Education, 2012.
In Brown s book, he goes into complete detail of how the service of public schools came into our
lives and why it is so important. Our founding fathers insisted that the government provide thirteen
years of education to every individual. Public schooling has come a long way and it provides all
students the insightful education that is desired . Teacher who teach at public schools provide the
correct incentives and learning experiences to engage all students throughout their thirteen years of
education. This free service the government provides us should not be taken for granted, realizing
that other countries do not provide thirteen years of free education. He states that everyone should

Difference Between Graphic Design And Typography
INTRODUCTION
This is a research paper about Graphic Design and Typography and the comparison of artists Paula
Scher and Neville Brody. Graphic design is the process of visual communication and problem
solving using one or more of typography, photography, and illustration. The field is considered a
subset of visual communication and communication design, but sometimes the term graphic design
is used synonymously. Graphic designers create and combine symbols, images, and text to form
visual representations of ideas and messages. They use typography, visual arts and page layout
techniques to create visual compositions. Common uses of graphic design include corporate
design logos and branding, editorial design magazines, newspapers, and books, wayfinding or
environmental design, advertising, web design, communication design, product packaging, and
signage. Whereas Typography is everywhere we look. It s in the books we read, on the websites
we visit, even in everyday life on street signs, bumper stickers, and product packaging.
But what exactly is typography? Simply put, typography is the style or appearance of text. It ...

important decisions a designer can make: it will make or break a design. Using fonts effectively
is one of the most important jobs of any graphic designer. These skills are essential as you begin
to express yourself through typography. Remember, graphic design is all about communication:
always think about how your message is conveyed through your choice of images and, most
importantly, typography! Just like Scher who has always aimed to create expressionist typography,

We intend to explore Critical Network Security Issues for IoT in general, and then focus on the
privacy concerns arising. We have surveyed multiple papers, articles and other publishings to
achieve this goal.
Motivation and Interest
IoT encompasses different devices which connect to the internet and talk to each other. By 2020,
the Internet of Everything expected to connect 50 Billion . IoT leads to a multitude of
things(devices) sharing data over the internet, which would definitely contain a lot of private
information. Thus, information security on the shared data is of utmost importance. Security and
privacy related issues are bound to explode if not addressed succinctly.
With the growth of IoT new security challenges arise traditional challenges become more severe
Understanding and exploring the existing and possible vulnerabilities in IoT systems is critical at
the current point of time. People will use a technology if the perceived benefit is larger than the
perceived risk. My (Teja s) areas of interest are Machine Learning and IoT. Yoonie, the other team
member also wanted to participate in advancements happening in the field. So, we teamed up and

In Nanotechnology Could Alleviate Many of the Problems of the Developing World Heller, Jacob,

eradicating extreme poverty and hunger, achieving universal primary education, promoting gender
equality and empowering women, reducing child mortality, improving maternal health, combating
HIV and AIDs, malaria and other diseases, ensuring environmental sustainability, and developing a
Global Partnership for development. Photovoltaic cells based on quantum dot technology,
nanocrystals for hydrogen creation and the production of hydrogen storage systems based on
carbon nanotubes would significantly improve environmentally sustainable development (Heller,
Jacob, and Christine Peterson). Although hydrogen is an alternative to fossil fuels, it formation,
storage and conversion to electricity as facing technological challenges. However, in the use of

development. Accordingly, the theory of moral development consists of three levels of moral
reasoning: pre conventional, conventional, and post conventional. Additionally, it is broken down
into two stages per level. Pe conventional is stage one of obedience and punishment; stage two is

Their explanation was It s against the law or It s inferior to steal according to Crain, a professor
at The City College of New York. In stage two individual interest children commence recognizing
the right viewpoint. In contrast with stage one: stage two punishments are simply a risk that one
wants to avoid (Crain). Studies show boys want to avoid punishment because of their own
interest. On of stage two s characteristics is to act of someone s own attentiveness. Level one of
moral development involves the authorities laws and one s own interest. (Crain). The subsequent
level in the theory of moral development is conventional morality. The stages included in this
level: interpersonal and authority. Children that are typically in stage four are pre teens that are
starting to understand morality with a better comprehension of what it actually means. Children
want the approval of others, so they can have the desire of being a generous person. Preteens react
this way in the sense of getting something vigorous out of it, in this case being an exceptional
person. An example of this stage is: a child gives away her lunch to a street peasant because she
thinks doing so means being nice (Sincero). The following stage authority, law, and order involves
respecting the law and following the obligations of a duty. Nevertheless, members of a community

Hospice Nurse Role
Hospice is a concept of care that is based on the belief that meaningful living is achievable during
a terminal illness that is free of interventions that prolong physiologic dying. The role of a hospice
nurse is to take on a holistic approach to patient care that involves a careful evaluation of not only
physical problems but also the psychosocial and spiritual dimensions of the patient and the patient s
family (Hinkle Cheever, 2014). The hospicenurse is culturally aware and sensitive in their approach
to communication that respects beliefs, attitudes, and values of the patient and family about end of

Lear wants to remain in charge of his destiny, even though the choices he makes are poor or
filled with danger. Thus, Lear chooses to go out into the storm because he must retain some
element of control. The only other choice is to acquiesce to his daughters control, and for Lear,
that option is not worth considering. Lear is stubborn, like a willful child, and this is just one
additional way in which he tries to deal with the events controlling his life. Lear flees into the
storm, as a child flees a reality too harsh to accept. In spite of his despair and self pity, Lear is
revealed as a complex man, one whose punishment far exceeds his foolish errors, and thus, Lear
is deserving of the audience s sympathy. Eventually, Lear displays regret, remorse, empathy, and
compassion for the poor, a population that Lear has not noticed before. Lear focuses on the
parallels he sees to his own life, and so in a real sense, his pity for the poor is also a reflection of
the pity he feels for his own situation. Lear is the anointed king, God s representative, and thus, he
shares the responsibility for dispensing justice on earth. He recognizes that he bears responsibility
for both his own problems and for those of others, who suffer equally. His understanding of his
complicity in the events that followed is a major step in

Compare And Contrast The Outsiders Book And Movie
The OUTSIDERS , a book and movie, portrays a small gang going through hard times. The Book
and Movie may have the same plot but have small yet noticeable differences. Both stories take
place around Tulsa, Oklahoma in 1965. These should be compared to show why sometimes
movies get things wrong and why the book tends to be better, in this case they both stick to the
plot with only a few missing or added details, such as the book is slower paced but has more
detail, the movie misses or adds small details, and the movie destroys your thought of what
characters look like.
The movie is fairly similar to the book except for a few exceptions. One of the main things is that
the movie is less detailed and is faster paced. Another thing is that pony never went to the hospital

Billy Joel also makes it clear that we can not judge a group of people strictly on their leader s
actions because they do not necessarily represent the popular opinion that their nation s people
have. The song Leningrad is of interest to me because I am a musician myself and I play the
piano as does Billy Joel. Music has always played a substantial role in my life so I decided to use
a music as the artifact of this assignment. To me, it is interesting to find out how a popular song
can change and affect the opinions and thinking of its listeners through the use of a mass media
outlet. The average person does not typically take an analytical approach to a song to figure out
the message behind it. It is also interesting that a listener can still be persuaded by a song s
message whether the listener knows it is happening or not. The use of song as a way to shed
light on social situations has been around for many years and frequently these songs usually focus
on issues on a more minor scale. Leningrad does the exact opposite by not only being used for
entertainment but also by using a war that most people had grown up through and showing how we
can help resolve these issues that caused the war. Approaching the song Leningrad from a
theoretical understanding is useful in that it shows how Billy Joel uses his words and experiences
with the Russian people to persuade and change the opinions that the American people have
towards the Russian s system of

Short-Term Memory Experience
The class was asked to do experiments on five different people who I know. We were asked to
test their short term memory. I thought it would be easy for my subjects to remember just 10
words. I wanted to see if age or education can change their short term memory outcome. On TV,
there is a reality game show Are You Smarter Than A 5th Grader , well my son is in the fifth
grade. We sat at the kitchen table, I read aloud the words that were on the high value list. Then I
asked him to write the words that he could remember me saying. Then an hour later, I did the
next set of 10 words from the medium value list, then the low value list of words an hour or so
after. With my husband, I did the same thing has I did with my son. We sat at the table

The Benefits of Responsible Human Cloning Essay
The Benefits of Responsible Human Cloning
On an unremarkable afternoon in July of 1996, in an unremarkable shed in Scotland, a lamb was
born. This lamb was to spark a controversy that would be one of the defining arguments of this
era. This lamb, simply named Dolly (after Dolly Parton in reference to the mammary cell used as
the donor), was the first clone to be born using specialized cells from an adult mammal.
The fact that the lamb was cloned from these specialized cells such as muscle cells, liver cells, or
mammary cells is what made this discovery of such importance. Before this, scientists had thought
that these cells had lost their ability to grow into a new embryo. They had already cloned embryos,

Thousands of lives could be saved.
In recent months, the story of this event has swamped the news media. Although many opinions
have been expressed, finding anyone who is stating the facts of the issue and not just venting his
fears and misconceptions has become extremely difficult. I n fact, despite the enormous controversy
surrounding the science, many benefits exist for mankind because of its discovery, and the
continued support for the advancement of the science far outweighs any disadvantages that may
arise. We cannot afford to l et our emotional biases deter us from allowing this research to continue.
To better understand why this is, one must look at the arguments and misconceptions most
commonly associated with those opposed to cloning.
Cloning is immoral.
As the procedure stands now, the cloning of humans is immoral. The procedure used has a low
success rate and disfiguration and death is not uncommon, but that is because it has only been
developed to be used on animals, with which these types of losse s are far more acceptable. All
reasonable scientists agree that the process should not even be attempted until the process is
refined to meet acceptable success rates and that those higher success rates will be feasible in the
near future.

Brazil Essay
The name Brazil comes from Pau Brasil. There are around 145 million people living in Brazil,

The twentieth century shaped countries in a way that forged the future of these counties. At a

It motivated people to excel in their respective tasks. Economic and politic have changed how each
country identified themselves which lead them to choose between socialism and capitalism. It
determined the effectiveness of their army, mindset culture and so on. The concept of Nationalism

The Effects Of Football Hooliganism
Football hooliganism is a description of a football related violent behaviours and actions from

many parts of Europe, Latin America, and recently in north Africa. Hundreds of incidents have
happened, many people have died, thousands of fans have injured, several stadiums were ruined,
and many squares were turned into battlefields just because of footballhooligans who exploit the

I assure you, it s much more serious than that (Shankly, cited in Hendriks and Gilbert, 2014, p.12).
Football hooliganism is far more than simple violent incidents in football games. It is a very
deleterious phenomenon that affects the reputation of the entire sports, especially the football
sector as well as it negatively affects the society. As Rogers (2016) proclaims, Hooliganism is
soccer s greatest scourge, one that appeared to have been largely cosigned to the past but still
ready to appear, like a snake, when the conditions are right (para.12). Hooliganism causes disastrous
incidents, human losses, injuries, growing fanaticism and hatred, and destruction of properties of
the nation. In fact, most of these aspects can even affect the people in the society who are not
interested in or part of the football game. Hooliganism behaviors involve rioting, clashing
vandalism, swearing, intimidation, mocking, offensive chanting, spitting, fighting, throwing
objects, and using weaponries in fighting. Furthermore, football hooligans are known for using
flares and smoke bombs before, during, and after matches as part of their usual actions. These
behaviors are causing and have caused many distractions and threats to the football game,
especially in the European continent. For instance, one of the most recent and well known
examples of hooliganism was in last June during the European cup (Euro 2016) in France where
Russian hooligans had a huge street battle with English hooligans in Marseille city in France. The
battles have occurred before, during, and after the football match between the Russian national
team and England national team in the Euro 2016 competition at the stadium of velodrome.
According to Boffey (2016), Marseille s emergency services said 31 people were injured in the
disorder, including one middle aged man who was knocked unconscious, and one England supporter

Figurative Language In The Chocolate War By Robert Cormier
In the novel The Chocolate War by Robert Cormier, the characters are over exaggerated, to state a
clear point that this is not a normal story. The story does not follow a regular story line, but one
that Robert Cormier decides is fit in his mind and he over exaggerates it aswell for an effect to state
his point that, not every time you disturb the universe something good comes out.
Robert Cormier wanted the characters be different, he did not make them how others wanted,
being socially acceptable, he wrote the book how he thought it should have went in his mind,
and doing so he gave the readers some new to read not just the everyday novel. Cormier gives the
reader many examples of figurative language to express the real meaning of the story for
example, Caroni watched the chalk in Brother Leon s hands, the way the teacher pressed it,
rolled it, his fingers like the legs of spiders with a victim in their clutch. (90) In this quote
Cormier gives a similar to exaggerate about how Brother Leon was holding the chalk in his
hands. It sends a powerful message to the reader that Brother Leon is a horrible man, who had
no mercy and he is seen by others as a powerful administrator in the school using quid pro quo in
his own evil type of way. Cormier also uses more figurative language to give a specific emotion
that Cormier was trying to express throughout his novel, that not every time someone disturbs the
universe something good comes out of it. What happened with Renault was bad enough, but
there was violence in the air. (209) This quote is the the example that even though Renault did
disturb the universe and did try to stop the chocolate sale, he failed and something bad happened
to him for trying. In the end Jerry s attempts to stop the chocolate sales failed, and still there was
still violence in the air meaning the enemy he tried to defeat was angry, but still undefeated. And
many readers dislike Cormiers way to end the book in a way that the hero does not defeat the
villain(s). Like Richard Peck said The young will understand the outcome. They won t like it but
they ll understand. (10) And this is exactly what Cormier had in mind when he was writing the
book, that the readers wouldn t like the ending, but

The postwar period starting in 1945 was a time of economic boom and a shared sense of unity in

African American workers were becoming increasingly unhappy with their roles in the American
post war economy. Employment of women in America was at an all time high reaching 19 million

war due to women s push for opportunity outside of their typical roles at home. In the post war

Mambo Girl Comparative Essay
Films such as Shall We Dansu? and Mambo Girl both display East Asian performance of Latin
American dance forms ballroom and a culmination of Latin American dance styles such as mambo

transculturation, ballroom dancers are dancing Latin as a means of affirming their distance from
Latin ethnic identity through consciously donning a mask of Latin ness an exotic otherness (304

comparative analysis of the movement profile of their two main characters Sugiyama and Kailing,
both vital to the plot and enhance the films characters and character development, I compare the
characters first dancescene, then moments where they retreat from dancing altogether and lastly,
dance as celebration. The comparison reveals that while dancing is a form of nonverbal

Compare and Constrast Wide Sargasso Sea and the Awakening
Compare and contrast how Patriarchy shows oppression in The Awakening and Wide Sargasso Sea .
Patriarchy is a social organisation in which the father or eldest male is head of a household or

Transformation In Adrienne Rich s Young Girl At A Window
New values and understandings obtained from discovery provide a significant catalyst for an
individual s transformation; elucidating their renewed perceptions of the human condition. Evoked
by curiosity, Rosemary Dobson s elegiac poems Young Girl at a Window and Cockcrow explore an
individual s spiritual metamorphosis; this effect is reinforced in Adrienne Rich s feminist poem
Diving into the Wreck.
Self discovery stimulate new ideas that enable us to speculate about confronting future possibilities.
In Young Girl at a Window, the second person imperative lift your hand to the window establishes
the metaphorical threshold the emotional boundaries and liminal space that separates the
inexorable development from childhood to adulthood. Nevertheless, the cumulative listing of
sighing, turning, move away suggests that the persona is closing the window, hence highlighting
the reluctant connotations of change and growth. Ultimately, we must be willing to embrace
anomalies to grow as individuals.
New ideas derived from self reflection enable us to develop in ways that are spiritually linked to
the future. The inexorable passage of adulthood is established by the motif of time, indicating that
life is continuously moving forward. The personification of time guiltless minute hand suggest that
time is not responsible for our future, but we are. Additionally, the dysphemistic personification of
time was killed foreshadows the cessation of childhood. Eventually, the

Corporate Power And Its Effect On Social, Political, And...
Since the late 1970s corporate power has grown to unprecedented heights. What does increasing
corporate power have on social, political, and/or environmental factors?
Who has the most power? Governments, consumers or corporations? Perhaps the question that
should be asked is who should have the most power. The obvious answer would be consumers
and the government. Although in a perfect world this may be the case but in reality this is far
from the truth. It is nor do the governments or the consumers who has the most power but rather
the corporations. Over the past four decades, a shift in power has been taking place, out from the
hand citizens and the nations and into the hands of the Multi National corporations (MNCs). This
essay will focus on the unparalleled growth of corporate power and the effects of corporate power
on Africa in terms of social, political and environmental factors.
The rise in corporate power cannot be seen more vividly than in Africa. Over the past four decades,
corporate social responsibilities of multinational corporations operating in Africa has been one of
the most prominent issues in the world. The rise in potency of multinationals owes its existence to
the natural riches of Sub Saharan African nations. These African nations are characterised by high
inflation rates, poverty and diseases such as malaria and HIV/AIDS. Multinational corporations has

Endodontitis
The main goal of endodontic treatment is to prevent or heal apical periodontitis. The cleaning and
shaping procedures are adversely affected by the highly variable root canal anatomy. The presence
of additional canals needs to be detected in to avoid incomplete instrumentation and preservation of
bacteria and their toxins, which can compromise the outcome of the root canal treatment. Therefore,
the knowledge of the internal anatomy of teeth is a prerequisite for successful endodontic
therapy(1).
The morphology of the root canal systems of mandibular molars may vary according to ethnic
differences and origin, age, gender, and study design(2). The roots and morphology of mandibular
molars present clinical complications that affect the success of endodontic therapy. Therefore,
clinicians must be able to identify the root canal structure before or during a root canal treatment(3).
The mesial root of mandibular molars often shows complex anatomy(4). Few clinical studies have
investigated the incidence of middle mesial canals in mandibular molars(5). Pomeranz et al
(6)classified the middle mesial canal into three possible canal configurations: fin, confluent, or

The Heroes Of The Tv s Supernatural
Imagine a world where things that go bump in the night take a step into the light of day; a world
where your worst nightmares become your terrifying reality; a world where you meet the
monster under your bed. Even though this is truly a horrifying world to imagine, it s going to be
alright, because there are saviors in this world. These saviors however, don t wear armor or ride in
on a white horse. Instead, these saviors wear flannel and drive a 1967 Chevy Impala with a trunk
full of the monsters worst nightmares. This is the world, and these are the heroes of the hit
television show Supernatural. Supernatural is a fictional television show depicting a universe in
which monsters, demons, and angels all exist and interact with humans. The

Hey Jude Beatles
I chose the song Hey Jude created by Beatles in 1968. This song was evolved from Hey Jules , a
song that Paul McCartney created in a car to comfort John Lennon s son, Julian, when his parents
divorced. Later, Paul McCartney decided to change Jules to Jude because it sounded better , and
also probably because he was afraid John Lennon, also a core member of The Beatles, aside from
being Julian s father, would be offended, quit the group, and make The Beatles disband. Indeed,
the rumors say that Hey Jude was one of the reasons that John Lennon quit The Beatles later. The
song is about comforting Jude and telling advices, such as Hey Jude, don t make it bad.... take a
sad song and make it better or And anytime you feel the pain, Hey Jude, refrain....... Show more

Also, The Beatles is the only singer band/singer active that I know of in 20th century(except
Michael Jackson and Elvis Presley, but I don t like them much), so that s another reason that I
picked this song.
This song was written and recorded in 1968. It was written by The Beatles, a singer group that
consists of four people John Lennon, Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, and George Harrison. But only
Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr are alive today. Hey Jude was one of the songs that The Beatles
never put into an album, alongside Can t Buy Me Love .
The Beatles started as a small group in Liverpool. They traveled around the globe, and with
Brian Epstein as their manager they went along as a seamless team. But when Brian Epstein died
of drug overdose, the members quickly started to fall apart, and ended up getting disbanded. Even
so, Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr, the surviving members of the group, still remain musically
active. George Harrison died of lung cancer in 2001, and John Lennon, the lead singer of the group
with Paul McCartney, was shot and killed in 1980

Origins Of The Periodic Table
As we know, today there are one hundred and eighteen elements on the periodic table of
elements, but it didn t start out like this. Robert Boyle, a scientist, discovered the element
phosphorus in 1680. Also, in this year the element became known to the public. By the year of
1809, the number of elements discovered at the time was up to 47. Also, scientists began to see
a pattern in the characteristics of the elements. Later in 1863, The 56 elements discovered at the
time were then divided into 11 groups based on their characteristics by an english chemist named
John Newlands. In the year 1869 a Russian chemist by the name of Dimitri Mendeleev started
the making of the periodic table. He started by rearranging the elements in order of atomic mass.
He also expected the discovery of other elements, so he decided to leave empty spaces in his
table so he could add new elements later. In 1894, the noble gases were discovered by Sir
William Ramsay and Lord Rayleigh. The noble gases were added to the periodic table in a group
labeled 0. Eventually in 1945, Glenn Seaborg discovered and identified lanthanides and actinides.
The Lanthanides were the elements with atomic numbers greater than 57 and lower than 71. The
Actinides were elements greater than 92. These elements today are located underneath the periodic
table (refer to figure 1). The last major change to the periodic table occurred in the 20th century due
to the work of Glenn Seaborg. starting with his

Over all I gave Logan s 7 out of 10 on the food and customer service grading scale. Sunday,
Febuary 26th at 6:00 pm, I entered Ruth Chris Steak House on Airport Blvd. with a friend of
mine who works there. We were greeted by the host and I explained the premise and the project
and we were seated quickly and in a prominent position so I would be able to observe customers.
After we sat down and ordered our food, I was surprised by how empty the restaurant was. My
friend told me that business doesn t pick up till around 7 or 8 on Sunday s. We ordered our food
and I took note of the time. 16 minutes later our food arrived, steaming hot. Our waiter was very
friendly, pleasant and helpful. He showed me where the bathroom was and I found it in excellent
condition, toilet seat covers and all. I returned from the bathroom to find a family being seated 3
tables down from us. I recorded their food service times and prepared to leave Ruth Chris.
Richa collected the data from Foosackly s and Five Guys restaurants March 3rd, 2012. Richa
went inside the Foosackly s on Airport Blvd. at 1:00 pm. Richa ordered a foo box for herself,
chose a seat and began observing customers. Richa noticed that the cashiers were friendly and the
eating area was clean and didn t have left over food or napkins on any of the tables. 2 minutes

Rhetorical Analysis Of The 1969 Apollo
Itzel Nava
AP English Language
Period:3
October 1, 2017
Culminating Activity Rhetoric can be used as a great way to convince an audience, but it has also
helped many people become better writers. The use of rhetoric in writing is crucial because it s
what makes the source effective or ineffective, so that you are able to persuade the audience.
Rhetoric is defined as, the art of effective or persuasive speaking or writing. In order for the
speaker to persuade the audience is using figurative language and the rhetoric appeals. Some
appeals which consist of ethos, pathos, and logos. Each of these which is important in order to
catch the audience attention. All these text are related to the 1969 Apollo mission which included:
SOAPS, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
An example of an effective text using the appeals would be In Event of Moon Disaster by former
President Nixon s speechwriter, William Safire in 1999. This text included both ethos and
pathos which was about if a disaster occurred. William Safire s speech in 1999 was an event of a
disaster that left the citizens of the U.S mourned. Safire expressed pathos through the quote
where he talked about how they will be remembered for their courage to accomplish this
mission. An example would be, They will be mourned by their families and friends; they will be
mourned by their nation; they will be mourned by the people of the world; they will be mourned
by a mother Earth that dared send two of her sons into the unknown. In this quote Safire let his
audience know that although two men lost their lives in the launch they will always be
remembered. Safire also says, In their exploration, they stirred the people of the world to feel as
one; in their sacrifice, they bind more tightly the brotherhood of man. From this we can infer that
these men sacrificed their lives to try to accomplish a mission that was almost impossible at the
time due to lack of technology. With this being said, the audience was most likely to react in such a
way that might have left them without a word because of the strong pathos and them being able to
understand this event with some empathy.

  • 2. The Issue Of Crowd Disorder This article looks at the issues of crowd disorder, sometimes referred to as football hooliganism as stated by (Dunning et al.,1988 Scott and Pearson 2007). (Marsh et al.,1996) quotes that the phenomenon that is football hooliganism has been over researched over the years, but this article looks at different points of views of hooliganismit has results of many different ethnographic studies that took place between 1995 and 2010. The research was undertaken by different authors and involved five in depth longitudinal studies with fans from Liverpool, Everton, Manchester united, Cardiff city and Blackpool and also the England national team. Even though academic research has developed greatly and during this time the line between fan and hooligan has been challenged many of times but people still have their traditional view. For example Edge in 1997 says that hooligans are a cancer and an unwelcome infiltration in the ranks of us true fans (Edge 1997:15). Williams in 2001 supports that by edge and also adds that many fans did not attend matches during the perceived height of hooliganism due to their fear of violence. Despite these statements this paper argues that this does not reflect the opinion of many other fans. An interview that took place in Liverpool November 2004 one fans says commentators on the subject of hooliganism do not tell you what fans really think. (Interview, Liverpool, November 9th 2004). However in this Hayley and Johnston in 1998 examine how violence can help a hooligan for example gaining a status such as a true nutter in football (Hayley and Johnston, 1998) and Poulton in 2003 says that many hooligans enjoy notoriety. (Poulton, 2003:19). None of these statement question fans though they are both just assumptions made by people. The research in this article says that most fans that were interviewed refused to condemn hooliganism but they had positive attitudes for it. But overall this does not say that all the fans that were interviewed in this study agreed with hooliganism, some fans complained about hooliganism ruining the game for them and ... • 3. Theme Of Death Of A Salesman Death of Salesman In Theatre Mitu s hyper theatrical production of Death of A Salesman by Arthur Miller, many aspects were added to heighten the messages and morals of the story about the American Dream. The stage is a fluorescently lit square with no set pieces besides a black chair that sits in the center. Once the characters enter many things are different from a typical production of Death of Salesman. The costumes resemble the traditional idea, but with a twist. Willy wears a white collared shirt, but the upper sleeves are ripped off, so when he wears his blazer during the flashbacks, you can not see the missing sleeves. Linda wears a dress resembling a maid or a housewife. Both Linda and Willy wear masks with wrinkles when... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The other characters are used as pawns to convey this story of loss and regret. Therefore, we no longer see these characters as people, but more as passing ideas. The director confronts the materialistic values of the American Dream and how quality of life is measured by what you own, how good of a job you have, and how well you are liked by others. The objectification of the other characters is obvious in Happ being a literal punching bag. This displays the abuse and rejection he receives from his family. In one of the first scenes of the play Biff begins to punch Happ in a playful way, but as the show progresses Linda strikes the punching bag when she is yelling at the boys about abandoning their father. By doing this the lens of the story is narrowed to the Lomans, and even smaller, to the relationship between Biff and Willy. As a teenager, Willy puts pressure on Biff to be everything he was never able to be. Biff is the star football player and plans to attend a good college. He is supposed to bring honor to the Loman name, but when he fails Biff s facade is dropped and Willy only sees him as a failure which he is responsible for. This is visible in the flashbacks by Willy addressing Biff s football gear as Biff himself, but in the present Biff only carries his football gear in his hand. Willy carries around an open, empty briefcase ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Benefits Of Retirement Plan Will Fit Financial Needs Introduction Choosing which retirement plan will fit financial needs is not always the easiest decision to make. While investing in both traditional and Roth individual retirement accounts (IRAs) appears to draw considerable attention, differences in the rules for contributing to and withdrawing from these retirement plans places individuals and married couples in a predicament. They may choose to invest in either a traditional or Roth IRA while they may also choose to invest in self direct, direct contribution (DB) or defined benefit (DB) plans sponsored by employers. In any case, individuals and married couples approaching retirement age should carefully consider their own financial needs before choosing to invest in any retirement ... Other types of earned income include alimony and military differential pay, but does not include interest or dividends from investments, income from rental property and pension payments (para. 3). In terms of contribution limits for individuals and married couples with a Roth IRA, if earned income for one year is less than the contribution limits, they may only contribute up the total earned income amount (para. 4). As of 2014, for individuals and married couples under the age of 50, the annual contribution limit is $5,500. For married couples filing separately, the earned income limit for making contributions to a Roth IRA is $10,000. Otherwise, a married filing separately does not have any eligibility for making contributions to a Roth IRA. Tax Incentives Both traditional and Roth IRAs have generous tax incentives (Spors, para. 3). However, claiming the tax incentives for either a traditional or a Roth IRA depends on timing. With traditional IRAs, contributions made to it based on earned income are tax deductible on both state and federal income tax returns for each year that an individual or married couple contributes (para. 3). Withdrawals made during retirement receive the ordinary income tax rate (para. 3). Roth IRAs, however, do not provide any tax incentives for any contributions made to the account, though earnings and withdrawals are mostly tax free (para. 3). The book Healing the Soul in the Age of the Brain by Elio Frattaroli, M.D. Explains why medication isn t enough when treating mental illness. The Talking Cure by Susan C.Vaughan explains why traditional therapy offers a chance for long term relief more than any other drug. In this essay, I will write about what I have learned from both books, and I will provide examples of how effective therapy is and the impact that can do on clients. I will explain why medication is not always enough for clients suffering from mental illness. Also, I will compare the content of both books with the Comer s psychological models. Based on my perception from both books, Healing the Soul in the Age of the Brain, Frattaroli is a practicing psychoanalyst whose hypothesis is that the psychiatric symptoms shown by clients, are an expression of unsolved struggles and require to be worked throughout the psychotherapeutic method by a process of transference and countertransference with the analyst. The book is remarkably useful in explaining and speculating these processes and also in explaining Freud s different models of the brain. Frattaroli develops his case when he implies that those who prefer the quick psychotropic fix to the lengthy and costly processes of psychoanalytic therapy are giving expression to a mentality that seeks to evade psychological disturbances and to renew balance before all else. Using the analogy of learning to ride a bicycle Frattaroli suggests that an apprentice must be ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

It will describe the eight key components to Bowenian therapy and the techniques used during practice. Strengths and limitations will be exposed, followed by a summary of the importance of integration between psychology and family systems theory. Those who are undifferentiated, on the other hand, react emotionally and impetuously. Unable to maintain their own autonomy, they become fused with others in their family. Their emotional patterns are in sync with other members and they have a difficult time separating what they feel from the emotions of the family unit (Kerr Bowen, 1988). Intelligence does not determine the level of differentiation. Highly intelligent people can have low differentiation. The level of differentiation refers to the degree in which a family member can think and act for themselves while dealing with an emotional issue (Kerr Bowen, 1988). Intimate relationships often include bouts of anxiety. In families, as the anxiety increases between two people, they make seek to bring in a third person to attempt to gain stability. This process is known as triangulation. With the involvement of the third person, the anxiety is spread across more people and appears to lighten. While the tension may appear to decrease, the possibility of increasing the original problem persists. With three players now involved, the original dyad fails to solve the problem which caused the anxiety to begin with (Bevcar, 2009). Bowen researchers consider triangles to be a normal part of relationships. Triangles are the basis of Bowen s multigenerational theory (Rabstejnek, 2012). Through the poem, Tao Te Ching, I learned that the culture centuries ago believed that life happens to you and nothing you do can change it. Therefore, they preferred to sit back and accept their fate. In this poem, there are fundamentals that we still in modern times live by. For instance, we both believe family is the most important thing in our life. A quote from the poem that proves they held this value, In family life, be completely present (Mitchell 414). A concrete example from modern times that proves we have this value is Thanksgiving. On Thanksgiving, we get together with our family to celebrate. Graphic design is the process of visual communication and problem solving using one or more of typography, photography, and illustration. The field is considered a subset of visual communication and communication design, but sometimes the term graphic design is used synonymously. The use of song as a way to shed light on social situations has been around for many years and frequently these songs usually focus on issues on a more minor scale. Leningrad does the exact opposite by not only being used for entertainment but also by using a war that most people had grown up through and showing how we can help resolve these issues that caused the war. Approaching the song Leningrad from a theoretical understanding is useful in that it shows how Billy Joel uses his words and experiences with the Russian people to persuade and change the opinions that the American people have towards the Russian s system of ... Football hooliganism is far more than simple violent incidents in football games. It is a very deleterious phenomenon that affects the reputation of the entire sports, especially the football sector as well as it negatively affects the society. As Rogers (2016) proclaims, Hooliganism is soccer s greatest scourge, one that appeared to have been largely cosigned to the past but still ready to appear, like a snake, when the conditions are right (para.12). Hooliganism causes disastrous incidents, human losses, injuries, growing fanaticism and hatred, and destruction of properties of the nation. In fact, most of these aspects can even affect the people in the society who are not interested in or part of the football game. Hooliganism behaviors involve rioting, clashing vandalism, swearing, intimidation, mocking, offensive chanting, spitting, fighting, throwing objects, and using weaponries in fighting. Furthermore, football hooligans are known for using flares and smoke bombs before, during, and after matches as part of their usual actions. These behaviors are causing and have caused many distractions and threats to the football game, especially in the European continent. • 27. Figurative Language In The Chocolate War By Robert Cormier In the novel The Chocolate War by Robert Cormier, the characters are over exaggerated, to state a clear point that this is not a normal story. The story does not follow a regular story line, but one that Robert Cormier decides is fit in his mind and he over exaggerates it aswell for an effect to state his point that, not every time you disturb the universe something good comes out. Robert Cormier wanted the characters be different, he did not make them how others wanted, being socially acceptable, he wrote the book how he thought it should have went in his mind, and doing so he gave the readers some new to read not just the everyday novel. Cormier gives the reader many examples of figurative language to express the real meaning of the story for example, Caroni watched the chalk in Brother Leon s hands, the way the teacher pressed it, rolled it, his fingers like the legs of spiders with a victim in their clutch. (90) In this quote Cormier gives a similar to exaggerate about how Brother Leon was holding the chalk in his hands. It sends a powerful message to the reader that Brother Leon is a horrible man, who had no mercy and he is seen by others as a powerful administrator in the school using quid pro quo in his own evil type of way. Cormier also uses more figurative language to give a specific emotion that Cormier was trying to express throughout his novel, that not every time someone disturbs the universe something good comes out of it. What happened with Renault was bad enough, but there was violence in the air. (209) This quote is the the example that even though Renault did disturb the universe and did try to stop the chocolate sale, he failed and something bad happened to him for trying. In the end Jerry s attempts to stop the chocolate sales failed, and still there was still violence in the air meaning the enemy he tried to defeat was angry, but still undefeated. And many readers dislike Cormiers way to end the book in a way that the hero does not defeat the villain(s). Like Richard Peck said The young will understand the outcome. They won t like it but they ll understand. (10) And this is exactly what Cormier had in mind when he was writing the book, that the readers wouldn t like the ending, but ... Also, The Beatles is the only singer band/singer active that I know of in 20th century(except Michael Jackson and Elvis Presley, but I don t like them much), so that s another reason that I picked this song. This song was written and recorded in 1968. It was written by The Beatles, a singer group that consists of four people John Lennon, Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, and George Harrison. But only Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr are alive today. Hey Jude was one of the songs that The Beatles never put into an album, alongside Can t Buy Me Love . The Beatles started as a small group in Liverpool. They traveled around the globe, and with Brian Epstein as their manager they went along as a seamless team. But when Brian Epstein died of drug overdose, the members quickly started to fall apart, and ended up getting disbanded. Even so, Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr, the surviving members of the group, still remain musically active. George Harrison died of lung cancer in 2001, and John Lennon, the lead singer of the group with Paul McCartney, was shot and killed in 1980 ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 42. Origins Of The Periodic Table As we know, today there are one hundred and eighteen elements on the periodic table of elements, but it didn t start out like this. Robert Boyle, a scientist, discovered the element phosphorus in 1680. Also, in this year the element became known to the public. By the year of 1809, the number of elements discovered at the time was up to 47. Also, scientists began to see a pattern in the characteristics of the elements. Later in 1863, The 56 elements discovered at the time were then divided into 11 groups based on their characteristics by an english chemist named John Newlands. In the year 1869 a Russian chemist by the name of Dimitri Mendeleev started the making of the periodic table. He started by rearranging the elements in order of atomic mass. He also expected the discovery of other elements, so he decided to leave empty spaces in his table so he could add new elements later. In 1894, the noble gases were discovered by Sir William Ramsay and Lord Rayleigh. The noble gases were added to the periodic table in a group labeled 0. Eventually in 1945, Glenn Seaborg discovered and identified lanthanides and actinides. The Lanthanides were the elements with atomic numbers greater than 57 and lower than 71. The Actinides were elements greater than 92. These elements today are located underneath the periodic table (refer to figure 1). The last major change to the periodic table occurred in the 20th century due to the work of Glenn Seaborg. starting with his ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Sunday, Febuary 26th at 6:00 pm, I entered Ruth Chris Steak House on Airport Blvd. with a friend of mine who works there. We were greeted by the host and I explained the premise and the project and we were seated quickly and in a prominent position so I would be able to observe customers. After we sat down and ordered our food, I was surprised by how empty the restaurant was. My friend told me that business doesn t pick up till around 7 or 8 on Sunday s. We ordered our food and I took note of the time. 16 minutes later our food arrived, steaming hot. Our waiter was very friendly, pleasant and helpful. He showed me where the bathroom was and I found it in excellent condition, toilet seat covers and all. I returned from the bathroom to find a family being seated 3 tables down from us. I recorded their food service times and prepared to leave Ruth Chris. Richa collected the data from Foosackly s and Five Guys restaurants March 3rd, 2012. Rhetorical Analysis Of The 1969 Apollo Itzel Nava AP English Language Period:3 October 1, 2017 Culminating Activity Rhetoric can be used as a great way to convince an audience, but it has also helped many people become better writers. An example of an effective text using the appeals would be In Event of Moon Disaster by former President Nixon s speechwriter, William Safire in 1999. This text included both ethos and pathos which was about if a disaster occurred. William Safire s speech in 1999 was an event of a disaster that left the citizens of the U.S mourned. Safire expressed pathos through the quote where he talked about how they will be remembered for their courage to accomplish this mission. An example would be, They will be mourned by their families and friends; they will be mourned by their nation; they will be mourned by the people of the world; they will be mourned by a mother Earth that dared send two of her sons into the unknown. In this quote Safire let his audience know that although two men lost their lives in the launch they will always be remembered. Safire also says, In their exploration, they stirred the people of the world to feel as one; in their sacrifice, they bind more tightly the brotherhood of man. From this we can infer that these men sacrificed their lives to try to accomplish a mission that was almost impossible at the time due to lack of technology. With this being said, the audience was most likely to react in such a way that might have left them without a word because of the strong pathos and them being able to understand this event with some empathy. ...
