1. IMMIDIATE ACTIONS TO BE TAKEN WHEN A FAULT OCCUR
For the Technicians of LECO by Nashath M.H.M (Trainee Engineer)
In any types of fault,
1. Without any inspection of an Engineer, do not try to tell anything about the fault to the
customer.
2. note down all the damages occurred due to the fault at the customer`s premises.
3. Try to identify in which phase the fault has occurred.
4. If the fault is an internal fault of a big customer, try to identify the fault, isolate the supply of
them from our supply and try to fix the fault.
5. Note down the houses connected to that fault phase.
6. Identify the phase in which the affected customers are connected.
Fault : if a voltage is detected in the Neutral of the transformer:
 Take the voltage reading of the all three phases and the voltage in the neutral
 Check the resistance of the transformer to the earth
 Check whether there is any leakage currents through earth wire
 If possible, take the current reading of all 3 phases and neutral at the bundle.
