Harbinger Systems delivered an insightful session titled ‘IoT for You- Smart Watch, Smart Home, Smart Office’ designed to help companies share insights about challenges in the IoT space and our expertise in varied IoT solutions.
This presentation discusses how the monitoring strategy has evolved given the changes in web applications and infrastructure. With the advent of public/private clouds and containers, the old paradigms of application instrumentation and infrastructure monitoring are no longer that relevant. The application landscape is also undergoing significant changes with monolith applications being split up into micro-services. Asynchronous programming has become an integral part of high-performance web applications. Finally, many of the companies today are “Mobile First” which means that the monitoring of apps in mobile devices has now become very important. To top it all, the release cycle has reduced drastically as part of “Iterate Fast and Release Often” philosophy. Learn how some of these changes should be taken into account while coming up with the monitoring strategy of your organization in the long run.

Internet of Things, Connected Infrastructure & The Modern Supply ChainJeff Risley
Every market has infrastructure -- physical assets needed for the operation of an enterprise. And every piece of infrastructure will be impacted by the Internet of Things -- physical "dumb" objects, embedded with sensors, connected to the internet, communicating with one another and people. Understanding this collision of the Internet and Infrastructure is important for the future of both. This is a presentation I gave at the CSCMP Annual Conference.

More and more organization employees are required to work outside the office using tablets, laptops and smartphones. These technologies are causing profound changes in the organization of information systems and therefore they have become the source of new risks. Mobile technologies collect and compile an increasing amount of sensitive information to which access must be controlled to protect the privacy of the user and the intellectual property of the company. This webinar will discuss the risks faced by small to medium size organizations that require employees to work remotely. We will also discuss mitigation strategies.

IT Consumerization – iPad’ing the Enterprise or BYO Malware?Barry Caplin
Companies are increasingly encouraging employees to purchase their own devices such as smartphones, tablets and laptops to use at work according to a recent survey by CIO magazine. The acronyms BYOC and BYOD (like Bring Your Own Beer - Bring Your Own Computer/Device) have become mainstream technology terms. But what does BYOD mean for the enterprise? Can we mix personally owned devices and enterprise workstations/cellphones in our environment? How do we control configuration and data on personal devices? What about malware and other security concerns? What about improper disclosure of private data and intellectual property? And how will staff get work done when they are busy playing Angry Birds?
Is BYOD the flavor of the week or is the future of end-user hardware? Regardless of how security leaders may feel about the concept, we need to be prepared. We must understand what is driving BYOD, how it may, or may not, fit our environments, and have policy and tools ready.
In this interactive session we will discuss: What is IT Consumerization/BYOD? What are the benefits and concerns? Is there a cost savings? What are the Security concerns - BYOMalware? How do we protect data? And how can I start BYOD in my organization?
And yes, you can Bring Your Own Devices to this session!

What are the standards for IoT? What are the requirements for different parts of your business for IoT? For your infrastructure? For your employees? For your customers? For your partners? Examples of Successful Enterprise IOT architecture patterns and use cases. What are problems like security for IoT?
This report discusses the current and future trends in wearable technology ( wearables / wearable computer). Further, major drivers of successful wearables has been highlighted and 6 products have been compared as against each of the wearables.
Mobile devices accounted for 55% of Internet usage by applications in the United States in January 2014. The mobile platform engages distributed data, often cloud-based, to interact with users. This presentation discusses use cases of how organizations are combining semantic technology and mobility to extend the reach of their applications to their mobile-enabled workforce and customers.
Pete Wassell (Augmate Corportation) Security in the Enterprise Smart GlassesAugmentedWorldExpo
While companies have made significant strides with mobile device security software on smart phones and tablets, the wearables category is a different story. Personal data, customer data, and sensitive corporate information is at risk with data leaks exposed at multiple end points. There are a number of factors contributing to this situation that we will look at in this presentation as well as best practices to address them. The miniaturization of sensors and cameras and unprecedented connectivity have created a scenario where data can be captured and stored very easily, and at times unwittingly, by users. Lack of policies and careless use of enterprise wearables can be more of a security risk than cyber criminals. The trend of this problem will likely get worse, market forecasts show that IoT devices and wearables will surpass volumes of mobile devices over the next few years. The great promise and benefits of these devices coupled with privacy and security concerns make this technology a double edge sword.

Elevating Tactical DDD Patterns Through Object CalisthenicsDorra BARTAGUIZ
After immersing yourself in the blue book and its red counterpart, attending DDD-focused conferences, and applying tactical patterns, you're left with a crucial question: How do I ensure my design is effective? Tactical patterns within Domain-Driven Design (DDD) serve as guiding principles for creating clear and manageable domain models. However, achieving success with these patterns requires additional guidance. Interestingly, we've observed that a set of constraints initially designed for training purposes remarkably aligns with effective pattern implementation, offering a more ‘mechanical’ approach. Let's explore together how Object Calisthenics can elevate the design of your tactical DDD patterns, offering concrete help for those venturing into DDD for the first time!

Apple iWatch in 2015 is expected to give a significant boost to wearables.
These numbers are just numbers ! They could drastically change because no one can anticipate the different kinds of devices that are likely to come out, the impact they might have, price, etc. So take most numbers with a pinch of salt. However there is no doubt that wearables are an important segment, they are more like an extension of the smartphone and the coming decade will definitely see a lot of action in the area.

Need for consolidation and agreement
This is your day with your phone
Notice the length of time it takes to pull out your phone out of your pocket, unlock it, navigate to what you want, and then engage with it
There are certainly times that you want to get lost in your phone - commuting on a train or waiting in line somewhere.
However, there's hefty time and attention cost if you only want to feel connected when you are out and about especially when you are with other people
This is the same set of interactions on a wearable, but notice the reduced overhead per interaction
This is what is meant by “More present in the real world, and yet, more connected to the virtual world”
