How To Drive Your Talent Acquisition Process
With AI Tools
Introduction
The current labor shortage is the reality, which the HR department is currently facing amid the
pandemic. While there were organizations that are laying off workers, there were numerous others
that needed skilled workers.
To bridge this gap, it was imperative the process of talent acquisition had to be not only smooth but
also strengthened. And with numerous technological advancements in the field owing to ever -
evolving tech developments, especially in the field of artificial intelligence (AI).
But what does it spell for the talent management process in an organization? It is a given that there
are numerous AI tools that can help smoothen and strengthen the talent acquisition process.
Chatbots for screening candidates is the most common example of AI-driven tools.
However, there are more AI-driven tools that have been making waves in the HR industry and
smoothing the talent acquisition process at the various stages of the process.
To understand how and where AI tools can help the organization with its talent acquisition process, it
is important to understand what is talent acquisition and where all AI-driven tools can help one of the
most crucial functions of human resource management.
Going back to the basics, let’s explore the definition of talent acquisition. According to the definition –
talent acquisition is nothing but a streamlined process of identifying, attracting, selecting, and
retaining individuals who are highly qualified and skilled in their respective fields. Implying that talent
acquisition forms the major part of the employee journey.
Talent Acquisition is the process of identifying, attracting, selecting, and retaining highly qualified
individuals. This means that talent acquisition involves a key part of the employee journey. The
talent acquisition consists of nine steps and AI-driven tools can be implemented at every stage of the
process. Let’s explore some AI tools for processes like sourcing, screening, interviewing, and
onboarding.
Candidate Sourcing, Job Postings, and AI-Driven Tools
AI Tool and Job Ad Posting
Industry experts predict that with the help of AI tools, organizations can not only reduce language
bias from the job descriptions but also increase their appeal by reducing gender-specific bias as
well. Textio is one such AI-driven tool that can help recruiters improve their job postings’ content.
Candidate Sourcing and AI-Driven Tools
If writing a JD can be a challenge, sourcing the right candidate, at the right time, and at the right time
can be another challenge, an HR professional faces in her career. However, there are AI tools that
help in candidate sourcing – Entelo, Hiretual, Beamery, Arya, Telemetry, Hiredscope, and Hireabby
help in the various process of candidate sourcing.
Candidate Screening and AI Tools
As HR professionals receive a set of resumes for the JD, the process of screening starts. The next
step is to prioritize resumes – usually done by a parsing tool using Natural Language Processing,
machine learning, and deep learning to screen resumes. AI-driven tools that will help streamline the
process include – Pomato, Ceipal, CVVIZ, IDEAL, Mosaictrack, and Textkernel. One can use these
tools to streamline the screening process and select the best candidate.
Candidate Assessment and AI-Driven Tools
Organizations, in order to select the best candidates, are opting for AI tools that are known as pre-
assessment tools. With these tools, the Talent Management Professionals are able to compare the
key competencies of candidates and thus select the best of the lot that suits the needs. The
candidate assessment tools come in various sizes and shapes and range from personality and skill
assessments to culture fit, chatbots to social skills tools. Examples include – Mya, Olivia, and Jobpal
– the Chatbots, along with other AI tools like HyperRank, Harver, Kandio, Interview Mocha, and
McQuaig helps in streamlining the assessment process.
There are numerous other AI-driven tools that can help an HR and a Talent Management
professional in streamlining the talent acquisition process at an organization. There are AI tools like
Hirevue, Calendly, and Talocity for smoothening the interview process; Enboarder, Talmundo, and
Apical for offer and onboarding process at an organization.
While these AI-driven tools are helpful in optimizing the talent acquisition process, it will be good to
remember that these are just the tools that can’t replace human interaction during the entire talent
acquisition. In other words, whenever you use these tools use them with a healthy balance of human
interaction for better results.
