Nurses have important responsibilities like recording patient medical histories, providing advice and emotional support to patients and families, and teaching patients how to manage illnesses and injuries by giving them information on their health and how to properly take medications. To become a nurse requires graduating from high school and obtaining either a two-year associate degree through an associate degree program or getting additional education for a four-year bachelor's degree. Nurses work in a variety of environments like hospitals, schools, physicians' offices, correctional facilities, and the military.
