This webinar will be the follow up of the webinar presented in January 2015 on what works and doenst in DSM behavioural interventions. Research has shown that achieving lasting behavioural change in DSM is unlikely to take place if only individual behaviours are targeted while the context in which these behaviours are embedded remains the same. Best practices examples and social scientific studies have accumulated over the past years and provide interesting insights. This presentation will report on relevant behaviour change research and practicable recommendations and approaches in the transport and SME domains.
This initiative, started as a task under the umbrella of the International Energy Agency, is entitled ´Closing the loop. Behavioural change in DSM: From Theory to Practice.

Coaching being originally part of personal development can be also used sales and in managing customer expectation. It is often defined as “form of development in which a person called a coach supports a coachee (learner or client) in achieving a specific personal or professional goal by providing training and guidance.”. 1. Creation of constancy
Use a single supplier for any one item. Quality relies on consistency the less variation you have in the input, the less variation you'll have in the output. Look at suppliers as your partners in quality. Encourage them to spend time improving their own quality they shouldn't compete for your business based on price alone. Analyze the total cost to you, not just the initial cost of the product. Use quality statistics to ensure that suppliers meet your quality standards.
2. Adopt the new philosophy.
This principle speaks volumes to the way an organization should be set up. There are some key elements that are mentioned. - Embrace quality throughout the organization- Every part of the organization need to be looked at the same.
- Put your customers need first, rather than react to competitive pressure and create products and services to fit those needs- Organizations should always remember why they exist; it’s because of the customer. It’s important that if a product is in demand, that the need is met or the customer will go elsewhere.
- Be prepared to change the way you do business- If it’s not working, don’t be afraid to change it. It is always a great idea to try something that will enhance your productivity. Be open to a conversation about change.
3. Cease dependence on inspection to achieve quality.
Eliminate the need for inspection on a mass basis by building quality into the product in the first place.
4. Cease awarding business on the basis of price tag. Instead, minimize total cost. Move toward a single supplier for any one item, on a long-term relationship of loyalty and trust.
5. Improve constantly and forever
As I briefly mentioned in the overall discussion board. I think that companies have to keep evolving if they are to stay a strong competitor. There is always a need to improve something in a company whether it is a new technology system or a new process that can improve production or a way to improve quality and the list goes on regardless of the system, process and/or technique, companies have to change as the year’s progress and the markets and industries change.
6. Institute training on the job
As with the constant improvements going on, it is also important to ensure that the right trainings are being implemented. When introducing new technologies and/or processes the employees need to know what to do to ensure the quality of the company is not compromised. It is also essential that managers are also aware of any changes so that they are more equipped to help others. Also managers need to have extensive product knowledge that will not only help other employees but also the customers. Well trained employees can help a company overall as it goes through the many changes in t.

Auctions are an emerging market-based policy instrument to promote energy efficiency that has started to gain traction in the EU and worldwide. This presentation provides an overview and comparison of several energy efficiency auctions and derives conclusions on the effects of design elements based on auction theory and on experiences of renewable energy auctions. Five actions fit for 55: streamlining energy savings calculationsLeonardo ENERGY
During the first year of the H2020 project streamSAVE, multiple activities were organized to support countries in developing savings estimations under Art.3 and Art.7 of the Energy Efficiency Directive (EED).
A fascinating output of the project so far is the “Guidance on Standardized saving methodologies (energy, CO2 and costs)” for a first round of five so-called Priority Actions. This Guidance will assist EU member states in more accurately calculating savings for a set of new energy efficiency actions.

Prior to the current soaring energy prices across Europe, the European Commission proposed, as part of the FitFor55 climate and energy package, the EU Social Climate Fund to mitigate the expected social impact of extending the EU ETS to transport and heating.
The report presented in this webinar provides an update of the European Energy Poverty Index, published for the first time in 2019, which shows the combined effect of energy and mobility poverty across Member States. Beyond the regular update of the index, the report provides analysis of the existing EU policy framework related to energy and transport poverty. France is used as a case study given the “yellow vest” movement, which was triggered by the proposed carbon tax on fuels.

This policy brief analyzes the main interacting mechanisms between the Energy Efficiency Directive (EED) and the EU Emission Trading Scheme (ETS). It presents a detailed top-down approach, based on the ODYSSEE energy indicators, to identify energy savings from the EU ETS.
