2. Use of the passive voice.
The passive voice is more frequent in
English than in Spanish.
We use the passive voice when the
object of the action is more important
than the subject
3. Form of the passive verb
The passive voice is formed in the same way as in Spanish.
We need the verb "to be" in the same tense as in the active voice
sentence followed by the past participle of the active verb.
Present simple : write/ s is/are written
Past simple: wrote was / were written
Present perfect: Have / has written have / has been written
Past perfect: Had written Had been written
Future with Will: Will write Will be written
Going to future: am/are/ is Going to write am/are/is going to be written
Modal verbs: Can / must / should write Can / must / should Be written
4. Active to passive transformation.
Changes in the sentence.
The subject of the active voice sentence becomes the agent in
the passive voice sentence. And the object in the active voice
sentence becomes the subject in the passive voice sentence.
I am going to write a letter.
A letter is going to be written by me.
