 Marketing is the society process by which individuals and groups obtain what they need
and want through creating offering and freely exchanging products services of value
with others.
 All other important functions of an organization are related to marketing.

Social marketing is used to develop activities aimed to change
peoples behaviour that could benefit society as a whole. The
social marketing is a tool that influences behaviour in a cost
effective way. It will help us to decide:
. What type of people to work with?
. What type of behaviour will be influenced?
. How to move forward and measure it?
Social Marketing is a planned process , and the goal is to change how
people behave.
The marketing strategies will be implemented in such a way, product
and services will be developed it fits people’s need and
motivation.
IMPACT OF SOCIAL MARKETING
Social marketing has been focused on priority
behaviours which can influence the public about the
social determinants of health.
 .The marketing programs have a great chance of becoming
successful by psychological and environmental approach.
 . It can be helped to make the cost effective use of public
resources by utilising the opportunities.
 . Government sectors, NGO’s and private sectors can work
together on a platform so that they meet the success by providing
evidence of sustained behaviour change.

The ideal function of the marketing process is to meet
customer’s need at a profit.
 Good marketing strategies designed products and
services. According to what the market says it wants.
 In free marketing economies consumers can influence
their available product choices through their purchasing
behaviour.
