HOW IT’S MADE... The Passive Voice
Passive voice is used to superimpose/emphasise the object over the subject; To give protagonism to the action and not to the "actor". Or when the subject is not known.
We can form this grammatical voice following the next scheme: Subject + auxiliary verb "to be" + Past participle
Examples for different verb tenses starting from the active sentence “I write a note”:
Present Simple: The note + is + written (by me)
Past Simple The note + was + written (by me)
Present Perfect: The note has been written
Past Perfect Simple: The note had been written
Future with will: The note will be written
Going to future: The note is going to be written
To transform from active to passive we need to exchange the subject to the object. Add the auxiliary verb “to be” in the same verbal tense and replace the main verb by its past participle.
Examples: 1. The technician repair the computer – The computer is repaired (by the technician) 2. Desiderio changed the car's oil. - The car's oil was changed (by Desiderio) 3. The pilot crashed the plane - The plane was crashed (by the pilot) 4. Javier has had lack of creativity. -  A lack of creativity has been had by Javier 5. I handed in the English work out of time. - The English work was handed out of time.
