1. How does your media product represent particular social groups?<br />For our film we chose two main female characters. Women are also used because they are easier to talk to and can open up to each other easily. One was represent as a victim and the other was a psychiatrist. <br />The victim is shown to be vulnerable, quiet and scared. This is because women are more emotional than men. The screen shot below shows that the victim is afraid as she is lowering her eyes. However, females could also be represented as being independent, because many times females prefer to keep their business secretive. <br />The Victim <br />The psychiatrist is shown to be caring, friendly and helpful. This is because professional females are more concerned about their appearance than their career performance, as it helps them figure out what is wrong with their client. The screen shot below shows that by the psychiatrist smiling whilst talking to the patient shows that she is confident with her job and knows what she doing.<br />The Psychiatrist <br />For our film both actresses were Asian females. Asian women are known to work as either Accountants or Doctors. However, many Asian women become doctors or accountants because they would rather have a higher status rather than a lower status. <br />Overall in society women are represented as being weaker and more emotional than men. <br />
