Air masses are large bodies of air with uniform temperature and moisture content that form over land or water surfaces. There are four main types of air masses: cold and dry, cold and wet, warm and wet, warm and dry. These air masses cause different weather conditions depending on their temperature and moisture levels, with cold and wet air masses bringing cool weather and snow and warm and wet air masses bringing warm weather and precipitation.
