The document discusses the research and production process for various media products created by students. YouTube was a primary research source to understand target audiences and genre conventions. MacBooks, Adobe Premiere Pro, cameras, and Photoshop were used to edit videos, magazine covers, album covers, and take photographs. Student blogs and other works were also examined. Products were evaluated through self-analysis, audience feedback, and answering evaluation questions in SlideShare presentations and videos.

3.  For our research we spent most our
time on YouTube looking at other A-
Level videos as well as ‘real’ music
videos.

5. YouTube played the biggest
part in our research as it was
critical for us to nail our target
audience but also make a
storyline that made sense.

6.  We read over previous media students
blogs to use them to help us with
planning our blogs and to look at layout
formats and designs for our own.

8. For our music video we used three main technologies to construct and film.
MacBook
 We used this to edit our
media products on and to
do research on.
Adobe Premier Pro
 We used Adobe Premier Pro to edit our
video together as well as adding effects
in. (reverse, slow motion, etc)
Camera
 We used a Sony
Camera to film all of
our scenes.

9. For our magazine cover we used mainly the same technologies as the music video.
MacBook
 Saira and Naomi
edited the Magazine
cover after uploading
the photos on to it.
They also researched
different magazine
covers.
Adobe Photoshop
 To edit the magazine cover they used
Adobe Photoshop to upload the photo
chosen and edit it to look like a
magazine cover. In order to do this
they used many of the tools on there
such as cut, crop, contrast, etc.

10. We still used the same technologies as the others as we didn’t need many different
technologies for all of our media products.

background colour of our
photo from colour to black and
white.

 Cana is a photo editing
app that you can create
logos, album covers,
posters, etc. I used this to
create the back of our
album

12.  Our evaluation involved us tearing apart our media products, we did this to
analyse everything we had done and why we did this, this helped us to answer our
evaluation questions and PowerPoint.
 We also used this to receive feedback from our audience, so we could see how they
felt about it and how they responded to it with comments and criticism.

13.  We made our own blogs for
evaluation of our whole media
products by doing this we could
look back on everything we had
done such as adding a log and
answering evaluation questions
which we could turn into

14.  We answered four questions for our evaluation. We were given different ways to
answer these not only in written form but some form of online/technological form
also.
WHAT I CHOSE:
SlideShare
 SlideShare is a online way of
posting PowerPoints which
then can be viewed by a mass
audience online. I chose this
as I wanted to be able to
write about what I had done
in a summarised process.
A video
 I chose clips and iMovie on my iPhone to create a
video talking on one of my evaluation questions as I
wanted to talk through why we did certain things
along the way to creating our media products. This
way I could talk in depth and not summarize as I did
in SlideShare
