3
➢Hospital management system (HMS) is a computer system that helps
manage the information related to health care and aids in the job
completion of health care providers effectively.
➢HMS provides the ability to manage all the paperwork in one place,
reducing the work of staff in arranging and analyzing the paperwork of the
patients.
WHY WE USE?
❑It is necessary for the hospitals to keep
track of its day-to-day activities & records
of its patients, doctors, nurses and other
staff that keep the hospital running
smoothly & successfully.
❑Keeping track of all the activities and
their records on paper is very
cumbersome and error prone. It also is
very inefficient and a time-consuming
process.

The future use of the Hospital Management System (HMS)
envisions a comprehensive and technologically advanced
healthcare management solution. This system could evolve to
include features such as electronic health records, real-time
appointment scheduling, billing and invoicing systems, and
integration with medical devices.
