1. The Horse Whisperer
Chapter 1 Accident

arm holding a lock on the back.

Tom jumped up and told the taxi driver out.
5. Chapter 4 The Journey West
Annie Get to knowthe story of the boy who worked in the stables Dyer , who was their

have prepared. the Pilgrim imprisoned in stables for 2 weeks.
Tom refused any invitation Annie can notchange his . Finally, she thanked him And end

touch the food andwater until she walked away .

The afternoon over The nextday they travel to the State of Montana , Annie was not

6. Annie looked ather for a moment . And pushed away Until she came to reston top of a
small hill. She sat there, And started crying She cried ,with Grace and Pilgrim . Shecried for a
little kid again .She tried to prop up inside Child that never existed. And she cried to herself.
She never felt that she was here. America is nother home Separately in England , where she grew
up . Do notfeel like home now. In each of them he thought she was a stranger , she has no home
anymore since her father passed away.

goes down. She looked up and sawthat looked dark .
She walked down the hill to sleep and Grace Annie start the car opened fire and drove
sailed in the nightto go to Choteau.
7. Chapter 5 New Hope
Ahouse they called the waterfront home nestled high in the hills. Higher upthe river to
the north . Tom andRachelstayed there after the two married. Followed byFrank and Diane .
Now, no onein the house had been . From there, to see the river flowing along the Farmhouse

He and Joe returned to the care of the cattle. Theydrive down to the ranch . Parking near

Tom heard the Pilgrim . Kicking the stable door after the crack there.
The horses look worse than he ever remembered. He stood up also Whenthe legs are so
thin, "but nowit looked bad bestial .
Tom drove to the home of Annie andring the bell. To his surprise, the color of the girl's
previous anger atthe welcome .
He does not knowhowto tell her . Lookingover the shoulder of her. His Grace the door .
She tried to ignore him understand allshe was listening. He understands the possibility of all three

Diane is a tall, strong woman , aged around45 years, she knewTom before meeting with

They eatthe silence for several minutes.

Frank could invited Annie and Grace to live in the river house because it seems crazy for
them to do all thatdriving to and from Choteau. Pilgrim’s legs was strong again by Tom Booker’s
helping. Grace decided to tellTom Booker about the day of the accident. She told him the story of
that morning, Pilgrim was frightened but he seemed to understand. He turned to face the truck,
defended them. Tom Booker suddenly understood the meaning of the fear in Pilgrim’s eyes from
the magazine by a California man who also worked with horses. The horse was lostand alone.
Chapter 7 Mother and Daughter
Annie’s mother left her with the child’s grandparents since her father’s death. Her mother
and grandparents thought she was a useless troublemaker. So she was driven by a single purpose
– to show her mother and grandparents that they were wrong.
Annie felt like thatangry girl when she failing again. She had to be successful at
something. Now she thought about these things. Shethought about the hurt inside her thatmade
her act like that.
Annie asked Tom about the conversation was between him and Grace. Tom almost never
spoke to her about Grace; when he did, it was about safe things, facts.
Grace felt comfortable with Joe now. Joe could asked her to ride again. Shewasn’t going
to ride Pilgrim again so Joe led Gonzo, small calm horse for Grace to get on.
9. Scott shouted athis brother, Joe wasn’t letting Scott used the computer, so he told
everyone that he sawGrace was on Gonzo. Annie turned to Tom and asked him buteveryone
didn’t knowabout this.
Annie talked with Grace in her bedroom, but Grace was getangry with her then Annie
walked away. Then she heard sound behind her. There was something about Grace’s voice. Annie
knewthat she had to go back to her. Grace said in a small voice. Her face was wet with tears.
Annie held her daughter tightly and they both cried.
Chapter 8 Annie and Tom
Pilgrim’s showof trust changedeverything. Pilgrim letTom place a hand onhis head.
Then calmly andvery slowly, Tom put the rope around his neck.
Grace walked slowly towards them andheld her hands out below the horse’s nose. Then
Pilgrim puthis nose to her hands, andto her face and hair.
Robertlistened in silence while Annie told him the news from her office on the telephone.
Gates had told Lucyto leave. Annie couldn’t accept that. Robertwanted, Annie and Grace come
back. But Annie disagreed. They talked about other things. Annie put the telephone down.
Suddenly she knewthat she had to wrote Gates a letter to give Lucy her job back.
Tom showed his rope trick to Annie. Annie tried to do ita few times. Only Joe knewhow
it was done. Then Tom stood up, took the rope and gave it to Annie, just for learn howto do the
trick.
On the ride back to the ranch, Diane was clearly telling Annie, in a kindly way, thatshe
and Grace should really go home now. There were messages onthe answering machine when
they got home.
The first was from Crawford Gates. He was not going to take Lucy back.He was sorry
that Annie leaving the magazine. The second message was from Robert. He was flying outto
Montana to spend the weekend with them.
Chapter 9 Robert’s Visit
Tom stayed away from Annie when heheard about Robert’s visit. Theyspoke very little
except.
10. On the drive back from the airport, Grace was so happyto see her parents together again.
The thought worried and excited her. She worried that she was not goodenough for Pilgrim.
Tom was driving Robertaround the ranch. He thought of Annie and all her questions. He
tried to push that thought out of his mind.
Thatsame afternoon Robertcalled the clinic in New York. Grace needed a newleg, he
told them. Then he tried to getplane tickets for all three of them. But there was a problem. There
were only two seats. Annie decided to stay here.
Chapter 10 Living for the moments
Late on Sundaynight, Tom did a final check on the horses. Thenhe went inside to pack.
Annie sawTom coming outof the house. He threw a bag in the back of his car and then
walked up towards her. He said goodbyeand started the car and touched his hat to her. Then he
drove away.
Thatday Annie drove down to feed the dogs. Atthe moment a car drove in and stopped in
front of the ranch house. She saw him just before he sawher. ‘I couldn’t believe you were here’
she said.
Back atthe house, Annie prepared their last meal together. She pulled the rope trick form
her pocketand gave it to him. Thenhe very slowly showed her every move. Suddenly, she
understood. Annie asked Tom to keep the rope then Tom refused, and put it in his pocket.
Chapter 11 Love Hurts
Everyone was there , but Grace wanted to be alone. Shelooked at the waiting faces at the
side of the arena. Tom rode him slowly around the arena a few times. Grace felt good. She
danced with almost everyone. For the first time in her life she felt beautiful.
Chapter 12 Saved
The next morning They needed food for the journey. Sheran to the top of the stairs
and called Grace’s name. No answer. Grace has probably taken for a ride. Grace rode Pilgrim fast.
But when she felt the cold air of the high places in her eye,the tears came. She put her head on
Pilgrim’s and cried. Grace never forgot what followed. It’s stayed with her until the day she died.
11. Chapter 13 A Year Later
Horse had skin was fair andhis hair was a light brown. Frankalso wrote about a
conversation that Tom hadwith Joe before he died. He wanted to give Grace a present. Annie
couldn’t remember much about the week that followed Tom’s death. Theyflew back to New
York. But when the horses arrived that August morning, Grace changed.
