3. The visual style will be energetic, creative and cinematic. The framing will be bold, and the pacing
fast, feeling with Aubrey through the highs and lows, never backing off the uncomfortable, frustrating,
painful, shocking and ‘WTF’ real moments.
Inside the film are versions of the final movie Aubrey is creating and Aubrey’s occasional ‘visions’
play out for the audience. The cinematography is breathtaking, stepping away from the real world and
showcasing beautiful, artistic images that both take your breath away and makes your pulse race.
Aubrey’s desperate drive feels a bit like Ruth’s from GLOW. A women who will do just about
anything to keep her dream alive, doing things she never thought possible, constantly walking that thin
line between ‘I can’t give up’ and ‘Holy hell, what did I just do’. As in GLOW, Aubrey is surrounded by a
band of delightfully offbeat characters who are both titillated and offended by Aubrey at the same time.
There is a bit of Midge from The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel as Aubrey is also coloring way outside the
lines. Midge doing standup in the late 50s feels like the same kind of risk as Aubrey boldly making
feminist porn now. They both have real haters and they both have to rise above the noise.
The Peachville, Texas setting is a backdrop full of nostalgia and traditional small-town bible belt life.
Church on Sunday, BBQ’s and picnics, overly friendly neighbors who know everything about everyone.

He begins to pull away as Aubrey jumps in front of his car. He SCREECHES to a stop.

Aubrey crawls up onto the hood of Kaine’s car.

INT. AUNT LIBBY'S LIVING ROOM – NIGHT
Aubrey paces the room, studying dusty, cluttered shelves of
photos and knickknacks.
She acts out a moment of the script, sits down, writes a
few lines, deletes them, paces again, walks past a shelf of
old VHS tapes and runs her finger along them until she sees
something and stops. 'Aubrey's 8th grade talent show' is
scribbled across the label.
Aubrey pops the tape into Libby’s old VHS player, sits on
the floor and pushes play.
INSERT TELEVISION SCREEN: 13-year-old Aubrey stands alone on
a stage, dressed in 80s Cyndi Lauper. She scans the
audience, then looks directly into the camera. Girls Just Want
To Have Fun begins to play and young Aubrey lets loose, singing
to an audience of thousands that doesn't exist.
Aubrey's eyes are saucers and her hand flies up over her mouth.
She watches for a minute then pushes pause.
AUBREY
Oh my God. I forgot about you.
Aubrey stares at her young fearless self on the screen, frozen in
mid-song, staring back at her.
