PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Artistic Director/Lead Artist: The Really Youthful Theatre Company (7-19 years).
April 1994-present
Warwickshire based educational theatre company, working within schools and the wider community. The
RYTC offers a range of activities including school curriculum themed workshops, small group and individual
student support, Arts Award and Children’s University workshops, summer/holiday schools and after school
drama clubs (often in residence at school).
For all of the above The RYTC also works in association with Looked After Teams, Family Support and the
Family Intervention Service.

Sept 1996-present
This role involves supporting students in their educational and personal development, creating personal
development plans in association with the school or other adults involved.
Specific school programmes offered include;

As part time drama teacher at each school I coordinated and ran drama lessons linked to class topic work. All classes
participated in/benefited from the drama provision during the academic year. All classes worked towards creative
targets (including Children’s University certificates) in a structured, meaningful
way.
Programme Manager/ Creative Partnerships Black Country
Workshop Leader: 2002-2005
Creative Partnerships was a national programme developed to encourage and facilitate a more creative
approach to teaching within the school environment.
Schools within selected regions applied to take part and, once selected, were supported in developing long
term, sustainable approaches to creativity across the curriculum. My role was to support and lead.
Drama Teacher: The Terrace Montessori School
Sept 2004-present
Role includes teaching about all aspects of theatre production as well using drama as a means of raising
confidence and self-esteem.
Additional responsibilities: acting as fundraising consultant for this private school.

2. Project Manager/Director: Rugby Young Carers
Aug 2003-Jan 2004
Rugby Young Carers is a social and support group for young people aged up to 18 years, who care for
members of their family in often very difficult situations. The project was an opportunity for the group to tell
their story in their own words.
The script was written following a series of workshops and the show was performed to an audience of
family, friends, other young carers, social workers and local dignitaries.
Artist/Teacher: Artists in Out of School Education
Sept 2003-Sept 2005
This Black Country based initiative was designed to give children the opportunity to take part in a
range of arts activities over a period of a year. The focus, alongside building the confidence and
skills base of the children, was to examine the impact of involvement in the arts on the children
and schools in the area.
Artistic Director/Lead Artist: Gazebo Theatre
April 2003-Dec 2004
Black Country based touring company specialising in producing original shows and projects for young
people aged 5-24 years. Activities involved participants from all backgrounds and focussed on the building
of self-esteem and new skills. The role included creating and directing shows throughout the year and
teaching on the CPD training scheme, developed for teachers at schools throughout the region.

Director of the production of “Miracles”, an original idea and script for a national celebration of the work of
The Prince’s Trust at the Royal Albert Hall.
