This document amends the Hindu Succession Act of 1956. The key changes include: 1) Omitting section 4(2) and substituting section 6 to give daughters the same rights as sons in a coparcenary property, allowing them to acquire coparcenary rights by birth. 2) Property a female Hindu acquires under section 6 can be disposed of through a will. 3) When a Hindu dies, their interest in coparcenary property will devolve through succession, not survivorship, treating daughters equal to sons.
